The start of my favorite gaming franchise of ALL TIME. The first generation of Pokémon was a complete phenomenom, as it introduced to the world the creativity that was present in Game Freak and Nintendo. The original 151 Pokémon, the rivals Red and Blue, Team Rocket, Gym Leaders, Elite Four, and many others first appeared in this one.

However, many people say that this is the all-time best generation that Pokémon presented thus far, and I beg to differ. Although this gen is REVOLUTIONARY, it has many problems. The opposing Pokémon's AI is malfunctioning, tons of glitches and programming errors are presented in this gen, the story is not nearly as interesting as the other gens are, the possibility of a Pokémon skipping levels and not being able to learn a move is very concerning, and etc.

Aside from the problems, it's still a good game, as it started everything we know today, of course. However, all of the next gens in my opinion improved significantly on what Pokémon can be (remakes included), so the first gen in my opinion, although very important and good, fall behind on the level of content quality of later games.

his is the game that almost, ALMOST made me buy a PS4 just to play it. I discovered this masterpiece at the end of 2018/beginning of 2019, where my friends at the time were obsessed with the franchise, especially this game. When Joker was announced for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, I decided to take a look at the game as a whole (yes, on YouTube like thousands of people have already done and which became a meme, since I didn't have money for a PS4 and I was still a teenager in high school).

I was suffering from very depressive episodes that weren't good at the time (pressure from college entrance exams, a new school that was really tough, living with relatives, very high anxiety, etc.), but consuming Persona 5 Royal content really improved my well-being, because I was completely immersed in the game, in an impressive way. I delved deeper into several characters, I was amazed at the high quality of the game, and very happy to have discovered this franchise. Fortunately, years later, the game made its way to several other platforms besides the PS4, which gave me the chance to play the game for myself... and I LOVED it!

Almost 200 hours of pure fun, it's an extremely well-made game in every aspect! Even with its flaws in some parts (Quinta dungeon, specifically), the game is still a 10/10 for me, for sure. This game makes me want to play the other games in the franchise with great pleasure (I intend to do 100% of Golden soon), which seem to be on the same level as this one. I recommend it to ALL JRPG fans, you won't regret it. It's one of the only games that I would have the pleasure of buying full-price, but it goes on sale frequently, so that's all the more reason to pick up this gem.

Super Mario RPG... I remember playing this game when i was a little kid, I didn't even know what an RPG was, only played the main platforming Mario games, so I dropped it shortly after. As the time passed, I became a huuuuuuuuuge Paper Mario fan, and I had the time of my life with the first 3 games, and got really satisfied with it. But I never had a real interest in playing the original, the one who started it all... then the June 2023 Nintendo Direct happened.

I grabbed Super Mario RPG this year and thought I might give it a try, and man, I'm so glad for doing that! This game is absolutely incredible, in almost every aspect. It's a simple RPG to anyone who wishes to try the genre for the first time (it's super easy to get used to), but it has a lot of charm. The characters are great (especially Geno), the story is simple, but it works, the fights are not that hard, the OST is great, etc. Heck, playing through this made me realize that I like it even more than the original Paper Mario!

Unfortunely I've noticed some small consistent frame drops in this remake, but that honestly does not bother me at all, being that the whole game runs at 60 FPS 99% of the time. This game made me realize that Mario RPGs (and Mario games in general) are starting to become more and more creative as the time passes, hopefully we can have a Super Mario RPG 2 in celebration of this game's success, if that happens, I can't wait to try that out!
