Basically an upgraded Assassin's Creed but in Japan, combat is fluid and fun but not enough to carry the game from beginning to end. Great fun at the start when the game is fresh but I personally got exhausted with the gameplay loop at around Act 2 where I felt like I already experienced all that the game had to offer.

The progression didn't feel very rewarding and in general you'll be doing the same thing from start to finish, infiltrating Mongol villages and killing soldiers, either by stealth or head-on, that's pretty much it. Not a bad game by any means but mega mid and overhyped imo, above average at best.

If you like Assassin's Creed games you'll love this, but if like me you're not, then you probably won't be a big fan of this either. Visually beautiful, good story, boring gameplay loop.
