Other than some beefed up visual presentation and a much stronger story than before, the best thing about Eternal is the balance. Every weapon and tool in your arsenal is not only useful, but essential for survival, even on normal difficulty. So many games allow you to ignore mechanics because of how easy they are, but not Eternal.

I don't like the platforming sections though, they can drop those for Doom 3.

This game establishes the Horizon series as the most creatively bankrupt in the Sony stable. There isn't a single mechanic in this game that hasn't been done to death by dozens of other games over the last 10 years. Every open world trope is here. The dialogue is just awkward exposition delivered by some really lifeless characters. This is the most inessential game I've played in years.
