This game starts off strong with amazing art and a solid opening monologue but never quite manages to leave an impact. There are interesting ideas displayed here, but only ever at the surface level, never really wanting to delve deeper into them. Also this game’s writing is just amateurish. Everything is resolved too easily and also spelled out to you in glowing letters. Why does every game inspired by NieR fail to realize what made NieR work. At least unlike every other NieR inspired game in the past decade, this one has queer characters, which is a major plus. Also the sisconsisms in this game are absolutely hilarious. I didn’t hate my time playing this game but I absolutely should have spent that time playing something better. I’ve heard Crymachina is infinitely better so here’s hoping it lives up to the expectation.
