The thing about playing this after other Fallouts is that you easily notice certain flaws; the map having little places to explore, skills like hacking and repair relying on rolls meaning you don't have to level them up and can just re-attempt infinitely, etc. But what you get in exchange is genuinely one of the hardest atmospheres I've seen in any game period, it is such an extreme feeling of desolation and loneliness even for Fallout standards, combined with the story and timer giving you anxiety just for existing. It's an imperfect but really unique experience and I'm glad I finally played it.

It's like if the blackjack DLC from RE7 was made into a standalone game.

This game is the perfect example of "damn, if it were 2/3's as long it'd be pretty good", first bits are pretty fun and the story is interesting but by the last 3 chapters I was extremely tired of the annoying ass gimmicks and go-fuck-yourself level design.

Half of the game is an addicting gameplay loop which constantly makes you go "just one more", the other half is some of the jankiest shit in any game, from shooting your gun through enemies to doors that are always interested in fucking you over.

Back when I was an early teen I used to look at YouTube videos about mysteries and secrets in GTA: San Andreas where people would obviously use mods to pretend aliens were a real thing in the game.
This game and its community feels exactly like that, except that all of the insane bullshit you find about the game is indeed real, and I love that.
Only big criticism about the game that I have is that too many days don't have events, leading to a lot of empty days and a bunch of cool events such as one relating to the sun just not happening to me in my entire 40 day playthrough.

One of the best remakes ever, it's still so sad we'll never get a THPS 3+4.

I wanna first say that I used to absolutely detest rogue-likes, their confusing, repetitive and frustrating nature always left me with a sour taste on my mouth.
With that in mind, I fucking love this game.
Is it perfect? No, some of the boss blinds feel frustrating and challenges are either a cakewalk or feel like they were designed by super Hitler. But oh my god it is such an insanely addicting game. It's so good I'm now going and trying out other deck builder roguelikes.

It's been two months since I last reviewed this. While a lot of issues have been fixed, the game has only become even more unstable over time. We are talking more crashes, even more glitches, server disconnects, etc. I'm genuinely worried the game will get a lot more content over time but with it even more instability.

Pretty much the best Tony Hawk game when it comes to the open world style. It's just a really creative game with how parts of the open world are removed and then added to the skate ranch, making exploration feel much more varied. Though it's disappointing how classic mode is way shorter than THUG 2's, I think if the story's levels were added to it the game would be close to a masterpiece.

I like when Jack-8 goes EEEEEEUUUUGGHHHHHHHH

This game is nothing short of one of the most atmospheric and fun PVE games I've played in a while, but as much leeway as I wanted to give it because there isn't really a full AAA team behind it and is being updated weekly, I can't help but feel that my frustrations have only grown more as I play it.
It just has so many issues like armor being useless, stratagems taking so long to use, many pieces of equipment being underpowered, some enemies being unfun to play against, planetary effects very few times being positive but almost always being tedious, and the insanely bad optimization and amount of crashes. It just makes me mad cus if it all of this was polished, like it seemingly was on Helldivers 1, it would be my favorite co-op game period.

Easily my favorite game to play on a phone, insanely fun game in general.

The best thing about this game compared to 1 is how there's no dumb padding such as stealth and vehicle sections. The main structure feels aimless though, the best way I could describe it is like if THPS4 didn't have markers telling you where the goals are, so for a lot of time you're constantly wandering around and checking the goals list being like "wait, what do I do here again?" That said, the addition of Classic Mode is fantastic, doubling the playtime.

The more open world approach fits a LOT better in this game than it did in THPS4, and the story is surprisingly enjoyable.
I, however, did the fuck up of playing my first time through on Sick difficulty.
I don't wanna talk about it, that shit felt like cancer.
