Ever heard about Project Overkill on the PlayStation? This is very much like that. There are tons of secret locations, keycards, explosives, etc. It's pretty much the Doom formula but with an isometric view and strange controls. Once you get used to the tank controls (It didn't take too long for me since I don't mind them), you should have a blast. The graphics here are so 90s, and I find them quite appealing. The cheesy fmv scenes are the cherry on top. The music is some of the best from a 32-bit system as well. For a sample, check out the main theme on Youtube. It's incredible. As for the actual gameplay, it's very fun and addictive. Something about these obscure types of Doom clones from the 90s has always interested me, and I feel like most players would end up enjoying this once they get used to the strange controls.

The Haunted Mansion and Pirates of the Caribbean stages are super fun NES platforming gauntlets. The rest are dumb gimmicks. For instance, Space Mountain has been reduced to an overly easy and boring quick time sequence. This is certainly only worth playing for those 2 platforming stages, and maybe the trivia. This is a great example of lost potential.

To everyone who hates this game all of a sudden, screw off! This is an innovative classic, and it's one of the most fun and exciting arcade titles that I've played. The controls take a while to get used to, but once you start to get them, you'll be having a blast. The attacks and jumps are extremely satisfying to pull off, and the vertical layouts of the levels here make it stand out quite a bit from its peers. Strider is also pretty challenging, but it's also not too frustrating like other arcade games from around that time. I've beaten this more times than I can count, and I still love it. I'll never understand the recent hate for a lot of these old Arcade classics. I mostly play the Genesis version, which is a fantastic port. Stay away from the PlayStation one. It's very lazily made.

This is a shitty and generic House Of the Dead knockoff with horrendous and gimmicky controls. All I really have to say is that there's nothing positive I can truly list here. This is genuinely one of the worst games I've ever played. Stay far away from this pile. At it's core, it's an insanely hard and broken mess, filled with terrible DS gimmick controls.

This is a very fun Resident Evil clone. To the surprise of nobody, the setting had so much potential that it was used in 3 future Resident Evil games (Dead Aim, Gaiden, and Revelations). Shockingly, I think the setting was done the best here in Carrier. The atmosphere this game provides is really unnerving, which works very well in it's favor, since it's a straight up Survival Horror title. If you're a fan of the first three Resident Evil games, plus RE0, REmake, Code Veronica, and the Outbreak games, then you should love this. The mood and the ambience here is superb. Hearing the subtle waves hitting the ship, mixed with the creepy moans of your enemies creates a very unnerving experience, which works brilliantly. The puzzles here are quite good, the story is radiantly ridiculous, and rescuing the other survivors on the ship is a very fun system that's unique to this game. This title is pretty expensive now, but I'd say it's definitely worth playing.

This is a pretty fun early space shooter, and once you get used to the strange controls, it's pretty simple and easy to pick up and play. I enjoy games that are like that, but the problem with simplicity in this case is that it can start to drag on and get boring after a while, since you're repeating the same 2 repetitive level structures throughout the whole thing. Still, I quite like this one. It certainly stands out, compared to the other shooters on the Master System. It's simple fun, and definitely worth picking up if you ever find it.

Why is this actually decent? It looks like pure shovelware, but this is actually decently polished for what it is. The concept alone is cool, and I haven't really seen any other games try it before. I love the focus on exploration. You'd think that this game would focus a lot on combat, with it being about bugs + being on the Wii and all, but it's more about exploration, and figuring out what would be the best strategy to take enemies out fast and quickly. The motion controls here aren't nearly as intrusive as a lot of other Wii titles too, which was a smart move by the developers. This game isn't gonna blow anyone away, but it's a unique concept that's worth playing through at least once for the experience. Though, I feel like if they focused on developing this for the PS3 and 360, this could've been better. I like the Wii, but this game deserved to be more fleshed out with sharper graphics, and more abilities + controls. The game also clearly struggles, being on the Wii. It randomly stops to just load sometimes in the middle of gameplay, which really takes you out of the experience. Still, like I said earlier, check this one out. It's cheap, and even if you don't like it, it'll stick with you.

I never thought a Shoot 'Em Up on the Game Boy of all things could be this difficult, fun, and dynamic, but here we are. The gameplay is incredibly tight and well paced, and the music is some of the best on the Game Boy. This is truly a hidden gem, and I'm surprised that people don't talk about it that much. Still, since this is on the Game Boy, this isn't gonna be the most polished or diverse type of game, which automatically makes it worse than a lot of it's higher charting contemporaries on actual consoles like the Sega Genesis and NES. Still, for a Game Boy game, it's really damn good. This is very much worth owning, if you have a Game Boy.

This is pretty much a nice and less challenging variation of your typical Contra game, and it plays pretty well. This is a good game here, but I'd take any of the early Contra games over it any day. Even on the Genesis, Contra Hard Corps easily tops it. Still, it's a fun one to play if you're a little burned out on the Contra series after playing them so much. This is easy to recommend for 2D shoot 'em up fans.

Everyone I know who plays this is a degenerate.

This is genuinely the worst. I've always hated post-Jon Game Grumps and found it to be extremely unfunny, and that description fits Dream Daddy perfectly. You can tell that it was a product that was specifically just made to pander. Practices like this disgust me, and the product to come out of it is a horrible, humorless, boring, and pandering piece of crap that never should've been put out. Stay far away from this pile. Exploiting the gay community with this shitty ass game was a terrible thing to do, and the recent news about Ding Dong (a gay man) being abused by his coworkers at the Game Grumps office just because he critiqued the game is just all the more telling.

This is an excellent on-rail shooter for the Wii. The extra content that wasn't in the arcade like the new modes, different costumes, branching paths in stages, and etc do a lot to keep the player interested and active. I've been playing this for 5 or so years, and I'm still having fun with it. If you have a Wii, you need this game.

This is a great game, and it's only big problem is that it ends way too soon, when there could've been so much more fun stuff to mess around with. I hope the developers learn from this, so that they can make their games feel more complete. The music and the balance between the gun and melee combat is a real highlight of this game for me, and is a big part of what makes it stand out from a gameplay perspective. In conclusion, the game here is really good, and the atmosphere is so unique and charming, which goes really well with the challenging and rewarding gameplay, but it's just way too short. Still, this is worth playing.

This was a weird fever dream that I forgot about until about 5 minutes ago. It isn't that great in all honesty, but there's a lot of potential to be had with this concept. It's enough to entertain a young kid too. I remember having fun with it when I was little.

This game is the peak definition of evolution in reverse. Rogue Squadron went from bad, to good, to the worst. I swear to god, the on-foot missions are the most boring things I've ever had to play through in a game. It sucks, because the spaceship sections are improved over the previous games, but you have to slog through so much dull content to get to those missions. If you love extremely repetitive and clunky third person combat that feels like a really asinine version of Star Wars Battlefront, then pick this up.
