‣ Final notes: First of all I liked this game just as much as Yakuza 0, but it is not better in fact it’s worse. Let’s talk about a few differences first. There are significantly fewer mini games to enjoy in the game for no real reason. Because if they can copy paste story elements, surely, they can copy past some mini games, right? What I mean is in Yakuza 0 you have a defenseless woman that you must protect, she gets kidnapped a few times you rescue her and then there’s a big shootout in the highway ending in an epic battle with rockets. Turns out the woman is very important for the future of the yakuza clans, and everyone is fighting for her for personal gain. Same happens here except the woman is now a little defenseless girl. I’m not saying the story is the same, because most of it is way different, but what had to be a battle against brothers became a mini story in the bigger plot. The real story of Yakuza Kiwami is here - Kiryu go help out a shit ton of different families then we will introduce the master mind in the end of the game, and you beat his ass ok oh wait btw here’s the brother you never really met in the game fight him while you’re at it. I’m happy that the game brought back a lot of characters from yakuza 0 but why bring them in just to kill them all? The reason why I’m being so negative is because I really liked yakuza 0 and seeing such a downgrade in all the aspects of the game really saddened me that’s all I still enjoyed the game and if you are a fan of what happened in yakuza 0 you absolutely must play this one. I could rant about the combat being unfair due to all the stagger and move spam the enemy does or why the fuck did Kiryu reject the position of a chairman and basically said fuck you to his dead foster father, but I will stop here.

‣ Final notes: WWZ is a decent zombie shooter, horde survival game that tries to replicate aspects from games like left 4 dead with hordes of zombies and special infected. It can be quite enjoyable with a couple of friends, but if you are thinking of playing this game solo don’t bother because it has nothing to offer for those who seek a good story or fun objectives. All this game does good is give you enough targets to shoot but that’s about it. The story is basically non-existent the characters are boring and frankly they change to quick. After finishing the game, I still knew 0 character names or their background. The objectives get repetitive and there is a small variety of them. Overall, the only way you can enjoy this game is with a friend or two.

‣ Final notes: Straight up I’m going to say it – this game has potential to be my new number one in terms of favorite games maybe even number one franchise if the others are as good as this one. I had so much fun with this game. Yakuza has so much side content packed in it that even after being 70%-80% done with the game I still encountered new game mechanics and side activities that can take up more than 10 hours to be fully completed. There are SO MANY MINI-GAMES that I swear I could play for hours if they had mobile version. You can dance/gamble/sing/go bowling the list just keeps going. The story is great, some might say it’s predictable or classic mafia bullshit, but I loved it the characters are great the voice acting is great. The only slight problems I had with this gem is the combat being a little bit outdated in terms of controls, many times I had to readjust my position because bulky Kiryu is a slow beast. The movement had also some aged problems but nothing to problematic. Overall great game and hugely underrated I wish more people found out about this diamond in the rough.
