This game is surprisingly fun and visually pleasing even today. The main quest, if a little simple, is very enjoyable, and the combat is pretty decent.

I actually like the characters and story and found it quite interesting for the full story. I wasn't getting uninterested at any point, and the final few battles and sequences were brilliant and kept me on my seat playing without getting up for ages.

So this game certainly doesn't reach the heights of 3 or New Vegas.

The RPG elements aren't nearly as gripping or interesting, and in many ways the game seems quite bland in comparison.

But I still really enjoyed it.

I found the story really gripping and it actually made me want to come back to the game when I wasn't playing it, and once I got used to the gameplay I began to enjoy it a lot more. However, I will note that I actually looked at my playtime to figure out how long it took me to adjust and start enjoying it, and it took about 2-4 hours from memory.

I think I'm in the minority here in saying that although I enjoy the gameplay, I seriously have more fun with the gameplay of 3 and New Vegas, and find the combat and just general exploration of those games far more enjoyable, and the many 'improvements' this game has come to make with the gameplay just weren't for me. Maybe I've gotten too used to 3 and New Vegas.

As you can see, I definitely have a lot of issues with this game. Especially with how New Vegas is famous for bugs, yet I had the buggiest gaming experience of all the Fallout games in this one. I was set back an hour as I had softlocked the game for not exiting a building the 'correct' way right before the ending, and characters constantly glitched in various comical ways.

As I said, the story was excellent, and once I got used to the gameplay, it became increasingly fun. This game is great. Just far from the best Fallout game.

Wow.

Now this game certainly has its problems. I avoided a lot of the bugs that the game is famous for due to mods, but my issues were more with the actual game itself.

This game can be quite a drag sometimes, making you do some ridiculous stuff for the smallest things. It can be poorly designed, tedious, and annoying.

However, it is saved by the wonderful story and how much your decisions actually matter. This is my first playthrough, and I spent 16 hours dedicating myself to trying my absolute best to be a decent person and avoid conflict with factions. I seriously managed to unite so many people and factions that I never thought would join together.

The depth to the characters and gameplay is insane and although I have had my issues with the game and various moments that annoyed me and put me off it, the good was so GOOD that it overall outshines the bad. An amazing game and an amazing experience for a gamer who isn't even usually an RPG guy!

Wow!
