ImLewis reviewed Final Fantasy X-2
This was a confusing and conflicting play.

I played this right after FFX to find out where they took the story. I prefer the combat and gameplay in this one over X and about 1/4 of the game had me interested.

But then it all just fell short and started to get stale. I was super bored in the last act of the game even though the game is quite short for Final Fantasy standards. I also can't mention how annoying the character "brother" is. He is such an odd guy!

ImLewis reviewed Final Fantasy X
I'm a gamer who has never gelled well with turn-based combat systems so I went in hoping to "get through it" to enjoy the story and characters. I didn't come out of this game being turned into a turn-based enjoyer but I also didn't come out of it hating the gameplay either. I loved how there was no penalty to swap characters, easy-to-understand counters and fun/rewarding progression for each of its characters.

The story perfectly encapsulates what sets video game stories from that of TV Shows and Movies and that's time spent with the characters. Nothing crazy over the top drama-filled scenes happened up until say for example the water date scene and yet it still hit me emotionally because the game has got me spending so much time with the characters.

I also loved how when the story evolved, Tidus was for the first time realising new things at the same time the player did. That helped a lot for immersion into the story.

The characters were interesting and unique, I for some reason disliked Wakka all the way through, I'm not sure if it was because he was racist at times or his goofy hairstyle but he just never grew on me as the others did.

My only dislikes were the puzzle sections and how frequent the random encounters were.

Overall I had a great time and could see myself coming back to replay it at some point.
