I don’t remember much about this game but me and my Dad loved playing it together and that is good enough for me.

Worse Spider-Man shattered dimensions. This game isn’t bad but it truly is Spider-Man’s potential guy with great concepts and Anti-Venom and that’s about the best I can say.

The game kept me constantly engaged with the different Spider-Man gameplay styles. Noir is stealth, Ultimate is a dynasty type horde game mode, 2099 and Amazing are pretty similar though although 2099 has cool web wing sections. Also, bringing in a fan favourite/pre-existing voiced like Josh Keaton for the character was a great idea.

I love the first and second act of this game - the characterisation of Harry and Peter’s friendship felt really believable to me and the Black-Suit arc felt satisfying if a little rushed. However, my problems mainly appear in the third act - Venom and Anti-Venom feel incredibly rushed and misunderstood which is disappointing as Tony Todd does such a good voice. To explain, Venom is treated as the symbiotic itself instead of the shared animosity of Eddie or in this case the host and the Symbiote creating Venom. Yet Insomniac’s Venom is just the symbiotic this removes a lot of Venom’s characterisation and a deeply hurt and conflicted idea and is replaced by just a purely evil Suit that has no nuance. They don’t even try to hide this - multiple times throughout the game it’s made explicitly clear that MJ as Scream and Harry as Venom aren’t in control (which is fine) and don’t remember what they are doing/saying (which is not fine). The suit is meant to heighten the wearer’s feeling and develop an already existing conflict like Peter’s feelings of inadequacy of fear of Aunt May being unable to pay rent in the 1997 show instead the symbiote creates the problems and this is what I take issue with. As for Anti-Venom, I understand the gameplay reason to give the player symbiote abilities back but it happens so soon after losing them, it doesn’t feel like this deep metafiction look at drugs that Insomniac promised it feels like a cop out. If it seems like I hate this game I don’t but I love the Black-Suit as a concept and as a story element and Insomnaic drop the ball a bit here; luckily the gameplay has somehow been even further improved with web wings.

I love the Christmas setting and how Venom is incorporated into the movement. However, the game is too short to justify its price as well as too short to create the same level of character development as the first game - Phin and Uncle Aaron feel massively undercooked.

The greatest compliment I can give this game is that I still play it in the background when talking to friends on Discord or just to relax. The swinging is the zenith of Spider-Man gameplay and it’s been honed to perfection by Insomniac. The story, characters, voice acting and gameplay are also amazing. My only problem with the game is the side quests - they feel very ‘gamey’ or boring with the player just collecting stuff.

I guess this is better than the last one since it has Kingpin and Carnage in it. Also, I find it funny that Black Cat is in this game because Sony/the developers thought there would be more films and she would have a bigger role is subsequent sequels. Either way it’s a forgettable game so there isn’t much to say.

The camera angle when fighting and plot in this game is awful, they didn’t have licensing for Andrew Garfield’s face and a lot of the villains are weird mutant variants or Z listers. I swear Vermin is in this game - I am not 100% sure but this game is so ass and forgettable that I am not checking.

I love this game it’s bad.

Personally, I still love a lot of the 3D Sonic games but I appreciate the ‘return to form’ that a lot of 2d fans wanted for so long . The OST is the standout for me in this game - the remix of chemical plant, metallic madness and Stardust Speedway are all bobs that complement the high speed energy of the gameplay!

Glad to have you back sonic!

No, but seriously what a great game - the environmental storytelling through fiery woods and Knuckles cockiness stealing the chaos emeralds; then learning of Eggman’s betrayal and subsequent team-up is all done without any dialogue and it’s conveyed amazingly.

Look at what the user ‘WellOfficial’ put and that summaries my feelings too.

If you can’t find their comment it basically says take Green Hill Zone from the first game and make it into a whole game and you have Sonic 2. Super Sonic, Chemical Plant and Tails are staples of the franchise and it’s all thanks to this game with a godly OST

In hindsight the game is pretty lacking outside of the initial level in terms of the titular idea ‘go fast’. However, subsequent entries, especially the 2d ones, only improve on these ideas. As such the game is a fine experience that has barebone mechanics.

Nothing crazy but I enjoyed Pokémon actually innovating in the formula fun. Plus the switching between 2d and 3D fighting was cool.
