Overwhelmingly mediocre everything, save for the shooting. Guns and abilities are very fun, but the world feels empty, the driving sucks, the writing is poor, and the mission design is barebones.

Pretty solid. Runs out of steam towards the end as the game feels very samey. It's never gonna be more than a Hotline Miami-like, but it's a pretty decent one of those

2019

I mean, it's fine? The racing feels alright, but just decent-feeling racing isn't really enough anymore. The career mode is pretty slim, and there doesn't seem to be a TON of variety in the racing or in the vehicles.

Kind of a real bummer of a title. I was really excited for this: John Wick and Mike Bithell? I love both of those things! Ultimately, the strategy feels slim and there's a real lack of weight to your actions. Really repetitive. :(

A genuinely sublime way to spend an evening. Colestia concentrates the tone of New American investigative thrillers into a tight two hour traipse through annexes of archives, and man, I really loved it. A Hand With Many Fingers was one of my favorite experiences of 2020, and I'm excited to explore the rest of Colestia's past works and am looking forward to future releases!

Intercontinental is ostensibly just a typing game, clocked in the wrappings of an apocalypse-eve event wherein you're talking with friends from your bunker while waiting for the world to end.

It's deeply human. It's sweet. It's a little heart-wrenching. It also feels remarkably prescient? Published in Nov. 2017, it feels like it stepped right out of COVID self-isolation malaise, to the point where I was genuinely shocked to learn it had been published on here nearly 2.5 years prior to lockdowns starting.

It's also only like, 10 minutes, so you should really check it out

It creates a sufficiently tense atmosphere - I'm a sucker for these PSX-style environments, but never really capitalizes on the flirtations with dread

A great little queer micro-VN that's absolutely delightful. Great writing, great art

It's totally competent, but also completely devoid of excitement and character from what I've seen

The gameplay never really evolves, but the music, vibes, and narrative are all more than compelling enough to push me through the runtime. The game is genuinely gorgeous, both visually and musically.

An absolute delight of a chaotic dexterity puzzler. It's very short, only a handful of levels, but it's a really pleasant way to spend a few minutes

Lovely little roguelike concept, each wave getting progressively harder while you often get progressively weaker. The loop here is pretty tight, but I typically prefer loops where you're increasing in power alongside your enemies.

I've only played the Jam version, but this is an absolute treat of simple design - it's no-frills arcadey tennis, but the package as a whole is an absolute treat

A game as simple as it is compelling. Couldn't tear myself away from this one til I wrapped on it. Wish I had an Android because I think I'd play this all the time when I had a free moment.

Excellent bit of micro-horror - great writing and truly fantastically evocative art
