I still can't belive this game is totally free. It's an amazing love letter to the very first Ultima Wave back in the first years of the '80s. It brings a lot of good ideas with it, and both the setting and the story surpassed my expectations.

I'm personally an huge fan of alternative ways to level up your character, so i loved the sistem in Moonring that's based on complete various tasks of each of the five gods in order to level up your stats and unlock skills instead of the classic exp.

The game propose a bump system for is combat, and combined with the skills it create a beautiful CS that hooked me until the end of the game.

What are you still waiting for? It's totally free, so go on and play it!

It's sad to see a low average rating for what I think it's one of the best Bethesda games. A great setting with an amazing writing with the classic Bethesda gameplay that I personally love. It have some troubles with balancing and bugs like any of their games, but this game restore the faith I was personally losing on this SH.

THE VAMPIRE

THE VAMPIRE IS REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAL

As the first game developed by Ember Lab, the team did an amazing job with Kena: Bridge of Spirit.
Needless to say, the first thing that catch up the attention of the players are the animations, on a quality level that makes you hard to belive you are playing and indie game. I can assure you, they are as beautiful as they look.

However, don’t let this make you believe Kena it’s nothing more than an animation flex, as it work perfectly even gameplay-wise. The platforming part of the game may not be advanced like classic 3D Platforms but indeed they do the work . The combat system is simple yet more challenging that you can think. Even on normal mode you can have a good amount of challenge, and on Master it can put you on a really bad time.

I would say, in a technical level Kena have some issues, probably caused by the inexperience of the team, but it’s nothing game breaking and I hope they learned a lot from developing this game.

In the story, you will follow Kena adventure as she try to follow her father steps in becoming a spirit guide. We will help the spirits in this mountain village to pass to the other side by helping them surpass their regrets and failures. A beautiful concept, yet I personally would have liked more deep in the protagonist herself, hope Ember Lab it’s keeping it for a sequel.

In any case, both if you are looking for a beautifully animated story or a challenging game, you will find a good choice in Kena: Bridge of Spirits.

A very simple yet intriguing strategy game, Islander it's the perfect choice for relax and killing time.
In the base mode of Islander, you start in a procedurally generated isle with a pack of building to build. Each building will give you point based on the other surrounding elements such trees and other buildings and gives you the opportunity to unlock a new pack with new buildings to place on you Island. Once reached a centain amount of points, you can finally move on a new island and start again, getting as much as points as you can get until you remain without buildings and ending the game. Every move need to be ponderated well as you want to obtain as much points from a single building that you can.
Or, you can go on creative mode and just make the city you like, a player even reproduced Minas Tirith!
Overall, worth to play.

To me, this game is legendary.
Yume Nikki it's one of a kind. Sure, you can found a lot of games that get inspired from his dark and dreamlike atmosphere, yet none of them really gives you the same experience that Yume Nikki it's able to deliver. Walking in these disturbing dreams trying to figuring out what does every elements represent, as dreams are the fifth essence of symbolism, it's what make this game one of the most unique adventure you can get from this media.
One of my favorite elements of this game it's the fact that you don't really have an objective or goal while playing it. Sure there is an ending, that you get by collecting all of the effects, yet even when you achieve this you don't really feel like it's the ending of the game. This is because the real ending of the game it's when you just choose to stop playing it, just as a daydream you have just for the pleasure of having it.
Yume Nikki it's haunting yet cozy, and even in his unfinished form it's perfect the way it is.
