Platformer Fighters

I like hitting the opponent until they fly really far!!!

Rivals of Aether
Rivals of Aether
Amazingly designed characters paired with the technically infinite content supplied by the Workshop. Competitively, I appreciate every deviance here from Smash's formula.

Melee but with a full cast of characters? Sign me up...

Super Smash Bros. Melee
Super Smash Bros. Melee
Extremely polarizing. One of the highest skill ceilings of any fighting game, if your hands can handle the pressure (they can't).

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
Love/hate relationship. There are certain problems that make it really unfun to play (awful netcode, sticky platforms, delayed movement, confusing buffer system, broken c-stick...). However, you can't ignore the grand scope this game somehow managed to achieve and how fun it can be when everything lines up.

Slap City
Slap City
A platformer fighter focused on goofiness and fun that feels good to play? This just got awesome...

5

Super Smash Bros. Brawl
Super Smash Bros. Brawl
Some of the most casual fun in the series, and subspace emissary was great as a kid.

6

Super Smash Bros.
Super Smash Bros.
Fun occasionally, but not much to come back to often.

Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS
Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS
The novelty of Smash 4 was a lot of fun during the demo time period, playing with friends at school and stuff. Smash Run is also possibly the best casual singleplayer mode made in any of these games.

8

Super Smash Bros. for Wii U
Super Smash Bros. for Wii U
Feels like every aspect of this game has been done better somewhere else in the series. Possibly the least motivating to come back to.

Stick Fight: The Game
Stick Fight: The Game
Extremely fun for a bit but can get old pretty fast.
