One of the best games I've played this year. The art is beautiful, the puzzles are fun - not too hard and not too easy - and rely heavily on logic. Think Return of the Obra Dinn but with different languages. The story was intriguing - I always wanted to go on and find out what this cryptic world was all about. Great music as well.
I am not the biggest fan of the stealth sections but this is only a very miniscule complaint about this otherwise superb game.

It's a fantastic game with great music. I found the beginning a bit overwhelming but as soon as you get to investigating it get's really fun. Thorough exploration is rewarded and it feels very satisfying piecing the mystery together one by one. Don't be discouraged by the amount of collectibles - you get most of them simply by playing.

The world and the characters are very bizarre and intriguing since the world building is great. The ending was a bit weak but the rest of the game absolutely makes up for it. Really a hidden gem.

It's a solid Yakuza game. Graphics Look fine considering it's a PS3 Remaster, the story felt a bit uneventful but gets better towards the end. It does have some very emotional moments and I like Kiryus character development - especially when you played all games from Zero to Kiwami 2 beforehand. The substories were not particularly interesting.
The combat system was a bit meh - I get that the game wants you to attack enemies from behind to circumvent blocking but dash movement feels weird in the Remaster und moves you further than the back of the enemies. It improves as soon as you learn more advanced counter techniques.

The game is a classic Assassin's Creed game which means less RPG and more stealth action game - for better and for worse.
As opposed to Origins etc. stealth actually feels worth your time. It is fun trying to infiltrate enemy bases without being detected and you can actually finish some missions without ever raising an alarm. Classic AC tools like smoke bombs and throwing knives return and there is a new ability which is very useful and not too overpowered.

I preferred the stealthy approach for most of the game since actual combat feels really, really bad. Old AC combat was pretty boring as well because it mainly consisted of parrying and countering but at least the fights looked cool. Now you can either parry or dodge an enemy move until you've depleted their poise (or stamina) which allows you to do a finisher. And Basim also has a Stamina bar now. There is no real choreography to the fights which makes them look...mediocre and you have this weird situations where two enemies attack simultaneously with different attack forms, it's weird.

Parcouring is better than in the RPG ACs (also because of the setting) - Baghdad is a really cool city to explore and movement is a lot more fun than in the open world games. However, movement feels worse than in Unity, which is...something.

The story is nothing to write home about. Basim is a pretty bland character here, the conflict is the usual with no real surprises and you can guess what will happen from a mile away. Could be better, could be worse.

The clue system is back (though I wish it would have been more complex), which is nice. There are no EXP just skill points (which fits the classic approach) and equipment has been reduced.

All in all: not the worst AC game but I expected more.

The game is every bit as slow as everyone says but the characters are really well written and likeable (especially Estelle, she is a great main character), the story takes its time but builds up to a satisfying ending and the battle system is serviceable.
I would recommend using a spoiler-free guide unless you want to finish the game multiple times since some stuff is very well hidden and requires a lot of backtracking.
