Every action game since Arkham City and especially every superhero action game since Arkham City has been trying to be Arkham City and partially to mostly failing. This includes every subsequent Arkham game, of course. The Joker's death is an incredibly poignant moment and easily one of the highlights of Kevin Conroy's storied career as Batman.

Bastion is probably Supergiant's worst game and it's still one of the better indies ever made, which definitely says something. iOS controls were a little loose, and some of the weapons felt really weak by comparison to others, but the Kid's story is still evocative and powerful. Also, the narrator as voiced by the incredible Logan Cunningham is a stunningly good performance.

Fun way to kill a few hours. I agree with other reviews that the writing got a little cheesy near the end, but I'm a real sucker for metanarrative weirdness so that probably didn't affect me as much as it might some other people.

Exceptional moment-to-moment gameplay, movement felt smooth and responsive, no complaints. Story is amazingly evocative despite never showing you a single human face. Building your mech feels far more involved than I could have expected, even if I did end up trivializing most challenges once I unlocked the double shotguns.
