This game was defined by all of the individual stories that were told every time I had to make any choice. At one point you get a dog companion who is functionally helpful (I named mine Doris) but every so often requires a nape

Just started here on backloggd and beelined to The game because of how much I loved it, and hoped to build a community with others who felt the same ... Apparently no one else here does and there is some good and bad reasoning behind it.

I was able to vibe with the game after because of the deft world-building and deliberately atypical storytelling, and it doesn't hurt that I adore a game with dog fighting. It seems like most people get frustrated at the beginning, and I sympathize, because I also had these struggles until I did basic research on how to overcome these early nontraditional elements.

Basically advice for anyone who wants to get into the game, go to University and do 30 minutes of Side quests, then go and purchase a faster bird. Once you've done that all of the challenges even out into a stream of enjoyable lore exploration and dissection of power struggles through dog fighting mercenary gameplay

This is like a top ten game for me because of how complete of a unified vision the entire experience is. This is some high game art, and in the process it loses mild playability. I don't think it deserves a free pass, if you don't like it the game has only itself to blame. But if you stick with it there is something special here.
