Hitman 3 is tough to rate. On its own, it is the most lacking of the World of Assassination games. It has some very good levels, but most of them feel smaller and less expansive than those from the previous two entries. That's not necessarily a bad thing... but then they all have fewer mission stories as well. Couple that with Berlin being kind of a misfire that I'd say rivals Colorado, and the Carpathian Mountains finale being a very weak and disappointing level... it just feels a bit rushed and less whole than the prior two entries. It's 2 fantastic levels, 2 good levels, a mediocre level, ans a bad level.

However, Hitman 3 is also a compilation of the previous two games and all their expansions, with the new mechanics of 3 retrofitted into them. It's the definitive package, even if it feels a bit shortchanged with its new content. Taken as a complete package, this is an incredible game and a genuinely amazing experience start to finish. It's absolutely one of the single best stealth games ever made. When judging just Hitman 3's new content alone... I'm a little disappointed that the game peaked very early with Dubai and Dartmoor, which are by miles the best levels in the game. As "The World of Assassination" this is an easy 10/10, but as just Hitman 3 alone, it's easily the weakest of new style Hitman. I hope the expansion content ends up being worth getting, but the lack of new levels and the focus on escalations has me skeptical. Ah well... at least the whole collection being here makes this an easy game to frequently revisit.
