Still one of the greatest 3D platformers of all time. Both Galaxy 1 and 2 are great, but what I think puts this one over the edge of its sequel is the more exploratory design in its galaxies.

Freezeflame, Sea Slide, and Melty Molten are my personal favorite galaxies. And the Purple Coin missions are my favorite part of the game, especially the ones where you have to explore across the whole level to find all 100.

Peak Mario.

Half a star off because they denied us the Pearlina wedding ending we all wanted.

No but seriously, this might genuinely be the most fun story campaign in a Splatoon game yet! Side Order is surprisingly addicting. As you attain more hacks and learn the best Color Chip combos, each run at the tower becomes more and more fun!

It was really cool going into each run with different Palettes and learning what the best ways to maximize every weapon was. The missions are fun and simple without feeling repetitive for the most part, the boss fights are all extremely creative, and wow! What an amazing final battle!

Ehhh, not the worst game my dad could've blindly picked out as my first Wii game.

Geez, and I thought 64 was slippery. Trying to make turns in this game is like sliding around on a bar of soap.

Not a bad graphical look for a GBA game though, and the soundtrack's good. But otherwise, I can see why this is the Mario Kart game that seems to get dismissed by everyone.

Wonderful courses which were all remade in later games. Amazing soundtrack. And really cool graphics for an N64 game.

But the controls are horrendous and the CPU rubberbanding is insane.

I remember spending hours on the sand castle builder as a kid.

A pretty fun game reminiscent of the first Legend of Zelda, but with more variety in attacks and locales that makes it feel a lot fresher. Great soundtrack too.

Not really sure it was never initially released outside of Japan, unless they just thought the traditional Japanese aesthetics would alienate Western players too much.

Pikmin 4 is my first foray into this long-beloved series, and what a great entry point! One of the coolest, coziest games I've played this year.

When you haven't played a Pikmin game before, it's extremely simple to pick up and learn, and then the difficulty curve is steady enough that you have plenty of chances to get your hands dirty with the mechanics to figure out cool strategies and tricks when the game tosses puzzles and hard-to-get treasures your way.

The controls seemed complicated at first, but you adjust quickly and gradually become a supreme Dandori master by the end of your run!

The atmosphere is beautiful, trying to gather Pikmin and collect treasures is such a fun experience, and and I LOOOOVED exploring all the caves. This was the stuff that made me sort of interested in Pikmin 2 back in the day, so I'm glad they eventually released a successor to it with all the QoL features to make it a near-perfect experience in playing.

Absolutely one of my favorite games of 2023 so far! I hope it gets a DLC expansion or something, because I want more, more, MORE!

Purple Pikmin are the best, I love them. Louie's the worst. I hate him. But Oatchi's such a good boy.

"I'm hanging on to the other side, I won't give up 'til the end of me!
I'm what you get when the stars collide, now face it, you're just an enemy!"

Sonic Frontiers is such a breath of fresh air for the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise. After several years of disappointing to mediocre releases, a level of uncertainty within the fandom, and a lack of trust in Sonic Team, this game helped reignite my love for this series and remind me what made me fall in love with it in the first place.

The balance between open-zone gameplay and the more traditional Cyberspace levels is what helps keep the game feeling fresh. Sonic's control feels the tightest it's ever been in 3D, and just exploring every island to find new obstacles and obstacles is a rewarding experience in itself. The Titan fights are supremely well-done and deliver some fantastic boss encounters.

Although the story is simple, it feels very tight and well-written, no small thanks in part to Ian Flynn finally getting his hand at writing for the games. The arcs with each character feel so well-realized and legitimately helped repair my frustrations with some of the Sonic characters in the past era, especially Tails and Knuckles. Tails addresses his flaky character writing in the past games with a renewed vow to become more self-reliant, and Knuckles happily returns to his original characterization of being kind of naive and block-headed without being an absolute idiot and remaining a good, loyal friend.

Sage is a really strong character with such a beautiful progressive arc as she contemplates her relationships with both Eggman and Sonic, making her a character I hope can come back in some form. The voice acting is the best it's ever been for this cast, and the MUSIC! The music for the Cyberspace levels and the Titan encounters are amazing!

It's still not the holy grail Sonic fans have been waiting for, but it's an impressive step in the right direction. I think if they can work much harder on balancing the gameplay styles so they always feel fresh and you're not just doing the same things with Sonic over and over again, then this a new frontier of a winning formula for the blue Hedgehog.

For the first time in a long time, Sonic's future is looking bright.

The people on this app put Scorsese to shame with some of the masterpieces I've seen.

The ONE time I actually got the camera to work, it was a fun 5 minutes of okay little minigames, I guess. The slideshow afterwards where they show you how silly you looked while you were playing is pretty funny.

But not worth how terrible the camera is at recognizing your face (even on the 1/10 chance you get past the first screen). A DSi camera novelty game that's not worth anyone's time.
