A cozy little Kelogg’s Variety Pak of a game where the what it offers is fun and cozy but too shallow to have much depth to really sink your teeth into and there’s a couple of less good cereals in the mix as well.
For every enjoyable costume like Swordfighter, Kung Fu and Dashing Thief… you get sluggish, mind dullingly easy and even annoying ones like Mermaid, Detective and Patisserie.

Overall an enjoyable little time that fills the cozy vibes platformer hole in my heart that hasn’t had a Yoshi game to play in a while

I'm so glad this game came to consoles cause I was worried I was gonna miss out and what is now one of my favourite 2D Platformers ever.
The improvements compared to the first game are astronomical. I like the hub areas giving the world a more connected feeling. The level aesthetics are some of the most beautiful I've seen in a 2D sprite based game and the main 4 cast are some of the most enjoyable main casts to watch interact with i've watched in recent memory.

Only done Lilac so far but I am absolutely coming back to do the other campaigns real soon! I love this game so much!

What started as a curiosity buy might just end up being one of the big hidden gems of 2024 for me
The game is oozing with a captivating style and energy, the movement and techniques you unlock on your travels make for some incredibly fun traversal and delightfully tricky platforming, the combat is delightfully satisfying when you start learning all the little intricacies and crazy techniques you can pull all wrapped together by some incredible boss fights that are a delightful sight to behold.

Admittedly my one criticism is that all this greatness (at least on Switch) seems to struggle with its performance. Had many instances of frame rate dips, animation glitches, even a couple crashes and soft locks. But if you can look past those occasional hiccups and are looking for something to scratch that metroidvania itch… I cannot reccommend this game enough

Congrats PoP… you’ve found a new fan in me!
