This game made me miss the narrative structure of Yakuza 4 and 5. A shorter tightly knit story without much meandering was refreshing after 6 through base Lost Judgment.

The end to this is fantastic, it's far from what I've grown to expect out of this franchise and its so refreshing to get something like it after so long.

I'll get back to this game eventually. too many times softlocked to want to go through it. Wish it could've released in a better state.

Fun little rhythym game with a short story that continues the themes of Persona 4 Golden while extending it to the public image expectations of being an idol in Japan. A fun thing to play after Persona 5 Royal and it really reminded me of what I liked about P4 that P5 was lacking.

Despite its flaws its still a fun time.

I didn't have high expectations for the story but so much of the gameplay gets in the way of itself at times. Combat feels slow because of all the badass Hokuto Shinken moves you can do. Bosses are both too easy and too hard. Too much filler of running in circles to talk to a guy to Change the time of day to go talk to another guy to go change the time of day again to talk to someone. Even if I enjoy it the side content games like Cabaret or Bartending feel way more tacked on than anything like the Pocket Circuit or Taxi Driving in Yakuza.

Much like other RGG titles the game really shines in its substories, taking a stoic buff weirdo and putting him in situations where he's out of place worked for 7 yakuza games and it continues to work here.

Play this if you like RGG titles already or wanna see dudes heads get exploded.

I'm just not smart enough for this game. already not good at competitive fps and having to worry about a guy digging up the floor below me breaks my brain

One of the most enthralling simulators I've played. minimal design but even the free version is incredibly deep and I've spent entire days at my job (very chill retail job) booking a fictional company. I have some goals I wanna hit before I try the paid version and I'll re-review it then with something more real but I had to put something out for this game.

What if you combined Smash Bros with Struggle Battles from Kingdom Hearts 2

Every single plot reveal in this game feels like they're doing this without making the tower completely collapse.

Fascinating non-linear sci-fi story that you can play in whatever order you want and at no point does it fall apart because of it. A real feat of storytelling to get everything to work how it does. A game you gotta go in completely blind.

The RTS portion of the game is a lot of fun when you figure it out, I just wish that there was a way to balance it out and make it feel less Start-And-Stop than it is but it is satisfying to see the waves of bad guys explode on the screen. I thought for sure the last mission was going to make my launch PS4 melt through the floor.

cool game.

It's VAGUELY like Mario Party, but One Piece themed. I played the western release which was edited to remove certain things that hadn't made it to the 4Kids version (while leaving in stuff from Skypeia, which never made it to the west under them) which also means it has THOSE voice actors in it.

Instead of a game board like Mario Party, each player is a member of the Straw Hat Crew fighting for squares on a grid which have a randomly determined Berry value, which made jumping in to the game without reading any sort of tutorial or instructions made it incredibly difficult to figure out what was going on and much like Mario Party, the friend I was playing with suddenly won at the last second.

The problem is that none of the mini games are very good, like at all, they're all clunky with bad controls and are either way too fast or go on way too long. Much like most anime games there is some charm found in the game if you're a fan of the series it's a part of, but it really ends there. It's interesting to see certain characters that never interacted in the series have conversations together, like Nico Robin and Don Krieg, but it doesn't make up for the fact that the game just... isn't very fun.

I was really excited to dig into this one but was pretty let down. There's a cool story buried away under frustrating pacing and some of the worst required gameplay mechanics in the franchise. Any time I felt like I was making good progress in the game and having a good time following the story I was hit with a required tailing mission with no warning and it really just grinds the game to a stop for me. It's made more frustrating when the story feels like it's picking up speed and then the required main objective is to do something that would've been completely fine as a substory.

on the positives this feels like the best substories have been in RGG games and Yagami's combat styles while a bit weird to adjust to feel really good after leveling combo speed up. I enjoyed the ending and getting to know a group of characters that I hope continue beyond the sequel, and very excited at the prospect of Yagami's Journey crossing paths with Ichiban's at some point. Hope I like Lost Judgment a whole lot more though.

Played through backwards compatibility on Xbox One which apparently has issues with the voice commands.

Lots of cool concepts here but nothing fleshed out enough to make an impact. Nightmare boss fights. Multiple sequences where you get downed in an instant, revived, and downed again before you can move or take cover. Fighting bosses you never feel like you're doing anything to most of them until they're dead. The story and characters were the highlight but because of how absurd it gets sometimes. Only played because it's by RGG studios and don't know if I would've touched it otherwise on its own merits.

Maybe I could appreciate it more if I felt driven to replay to get different cutscenes and outcomes but, the game isn't fun enough for me to want to do that.

Moba that absolutely outclassed DOTA or League but failed to bring players who put 129972402 hours into a game because it wasn't just a copy of it. Maps were more fun and required actual teamwork (common complaint I was told is you can't solo carry which why play a team based game) and was a great crossover Between all of blizzards games.

Picked up the game in 2020 to play with the vtuber Amelia Watson, I made her rage quit and then immediately got the most kills in the game after having not touched the game for 3 years. Felt good.

Cool Dlc with some supplementary info to Alan wake, probably cooler if you played it before Alan wake 2 was confirmed

a 2D platform fighting game similar to smash bros, but with one piece characters. Really stiff and not great, but it's worth a 10 minute session if you're a fan of the series.

The most interesting thing about the game is that it was brought over to Europe with English text over Japanese dialogue for the ps1 in 2003, 3 years after the release of the PS2 and a year before 4Kids first dubbed the show for western audiences.

oh and you can unlock and play as Pandaman
