For the first time ever, I have played Max Payne and wow, this game is a lot of fun! I will say it is really dated, I mean this game is over 20 years old but it is still so much fun! Here are the Pros and Cons.

PROS:

Combat- This game takes the "Bullet Time" effect and makes it fun! In my opinion, I personally do not like using Bullet Time in games but in Max Payne, I found myself using it a lot more, all the neat tricks and stunts you can do just made the combat really unique.

Guns- You had a well done variety of guns! Couple shotguns, the famous Akimbo Uzis, Commando, and a freaking M79! A lot of fun weapons to use for taking down these people!

Max Payne himself- Max is one of the coolest MC's I have ever played as in a video game. He is just a chill dude but when you get on his bad side, he is not going to be very chill. His character is very unique.

Difficulty- This game has some what of a hard difficulty, some parts you can get by pretty easily, some not so much. This game is not ridiculously hard, it gives you a good challenge which is always nice.

THE COMIC BOOK TRANSITIONS- I am not even going to say anything, if you have played this, you know how cool they are.

CONS-

This is kind of all my cons packed into one because of this reason... THIS GAME NEEDS A REMASTER. This game is over 20 years old, it has not aged great, there are some really annoying bugs, the save system is awful, and the graphics are not the greatest. I know, this game is made by the notorious Rockstar Games, we probably are not getting a remaster (anytime soon). But I would 100% replay this again if it gets a remaster, along with Max Payne 2: The Fall of Max Payne, which I have yet to play but I will in the near future! Remaster both of these games and Rockstar will make a TON of cash.

Overall, Max Payne is a fun shooter, with a nice story to follow, great combat, epic moves, and one of the greatest Video Game Main Characters of all time. Like I stated above, I will be playing the sequel, Max Payne 2: The Fall of Max Payne in the near future.

After years of putting it off, I have finally played through Horizon Zero Dawn. This game I personally feel does not live up to the hype and is very overrated but still a enjoyable game to play.

PROS:

Combat System- I loved this game's combat, I'm normally not a fan of ranged combat in story games, I prefer going in guns blazing but this game does ranged combat really well. The movement, how it flows, etc. It does have a learning curve at first but once you figure it out, it's real easy.

The Enemies (Machines)- I loved fighting the machines because of the variety they have, you go from rangers to ones that fly to ones that swim and so on.

Lance Reddick- He's a GOAT. RIP.

CONS:

Lackluster Story- This is my biggest complaint with the game, a lot of people love this game's story but I felt for how long it took to pick up, it was just really lackluster for me. I just did not find my self interested in it very much.

THE GRIND- I am a type of person when it comes to these types of story games, I want to just do the main missions no desire to do side quests. This game borderline forces you to do side quests to meet the level requirements for some main missions. Some people like that factor which is fine, but I just hate the fact that I have to grind for a couple hours, play a couple missions then repeat.

Aloy is annoying- I do not like Aloy, they try to make her Nathan Drake by talking in the 3rd person and it gets real old.

Overall, Horizon Zero Dawn while overrated is a solid game that I think people should play through. Its worth a run, if you like ranged combat, fun machines to fight, and Lance Reddick. I do have the sequel (Forbidden West) which I will be playing in the near future.

Yakuza 0 is something that I enjoyed playing but I do not think I'll play again in a very long time. For this review, I will be sharing my pros and cons of this game.

Pros-

The combat- This game has some excellent combat, it feels much more smoother and better paced than Yakuza Kiwami.

Open World- This game's open world comparing it to Yakuza Kiwami's open world, I am going to have to say I love Yakuza 0's more. Late 80s Japan is one of the most beautiful settings in history in my opinion and Yakuza 0 did it right.

Music- I mean.. what can I say? The Yakuza music goes hard.

Two different characters- At first I was skeptical about going back and forth between Kiryu Kazama and Goro Majima, but actually the game did it quite well. Switching characters about every two chapters or so. And I really loved the different skill sets they have, I personally enjoyed playing Majima a lot more than Kiryu just because of the "Breaker" move set.

Story- I really enjoyed the story in this game, I found it a lot more interesting than Yakuza Kiwami. I'm not going to spoil it, but this game has a wild story.

Cons-

THE DAMN CUTSCENES- I know, this story is a great story to follow, in order for a great story you need some cutscenes, but half of the damn game is cutscenes. I want to fight, I want some action, Yakuza Kiwami had way more of that than Yakuza 0.

Felt way too easy- I played this game on the normal difficulty and it felt like easy mode, when i played Yakuza Kiwami on normal difficulty, it felt hard as hell, I could just suck at video games but this game just felt way too easy.

The chapters were way too long- This kind of goes back to the cutscene thing but the chapters in this game are ridiculously long. Yakuza Kiwami chapters were only about an hour in length, this game had like hour and a half long chapters, with some 45 minute ones here and there. And I feel like a lot of this has to do with the cutscenes being way too long.

Overall, Yakuza 0 is a good origin story to the Yakuza series, if this game would have been shorter in length and had more gameplay, it would havve been a great game. It is still a very good game, I just do not see myself playing it again anytime soon. I'm very excited to see the continuation in the series with Yakuza Kiwami 2.
