it used to be alot of fun but now every no matter which gamemode is extra sweaty or theres a cheater

I like to tell people its like DND in the sense the game just hands you the tools to create your own content and it needs to be run by a game master (this game calls them the Zeus) with the right group this game is an absolute blast. even on high end hardware though it can chug, though that's partly because a lot of groups don't know how to curate mod lists properly. Its a bit too much of a time commitment for me right now but I hope someday I can get back into it. I wouldnt judge this games after joining one single group. try a couple because some will take the game too sersiouly (i found one gorup that require real US Army LOA forms if you were going to miss a mission) some groups are full of homophobes, racists, etc and since the game has a plethora of ww2 mods there are ofc neo nazi groups that use Roleplay as an excuse to spout slurs.

TDLR: great game but its a time commitment and may take a while to find a group good for you

online is fun, some of the modders and griefers kinda take the fun out of it and the money grind is intense

I think I've spent more time modding it than I have playing it

horrendous WW2 game but one of the better battlefield games. play for battlefield not for the setting

The single best WW2 game on the market, and one of the better milsim games on the market. but OWI fired the dev team and left the game in a broken state where none of the chaptyer 1, 2 or 3 maps work leaving only chapter 4

little bugs on PC platform, still feels half baked 3 years later (though Phantom Liberty seems to fix that, we'll see when that releases) Mods enhance the experience 10 fold, and the anime was pretty good. story is kind of boring but the game has a fantastic world and some of the best character interactions and side quests of any RPG I've played

my favorite racing game, its arcadey but is the epitome of "easy to learn, difficult to master" and I love that, I'll never fully learn the tuning system but I still appreciate its depth. The map is significantly better than the previous entry and offers more vehicle variety. Biggest downside is that all the leaderboards around the map are dominated by speed hacks and speed glitches making it impossible to ever see your name in the top 500 using legit methods

2020

its nowhere near as good as Post Scriptum but it actually receives updates and has a dev team working on it. Plus the new combat update overhauls the game in the right ways. I hope we may one day get full proximity chat allowing both team and enemies to hear. Also more maps like Fallujuh, its easily the best map in the game

The Galactic Contention mod will turn Squad into the best pvp star wars game but unfortunately few people use their mics in my experience

the modding scene really carries this game

RobZ Realism Mod and Great War Realism mod are the best mods IMO, just don't use them together

terrible ww1 game but easily the best Battlefield game, its incurably cinematic, especially the Operations mode. The hype for this game back in 2016/17 was earned. It lead to my addiction to early 20th century history

multiplayer is both overhyped and overhated, it was...fine. lootboxes took away a lot of what could've been great. the best maps in game were meh and the worst were unplayable. The zombies is insanely easy and gobblegum would've been a lot cooler without the loot box aspect. The zombies is only rated so high because of the Chronicles DLC and workshop support

the campaign isn't worth playing, Treyarch was at least nice enough to allow us to only download the modes we wanted to play

another game that ends up taking tons of space on your drive because of how many good mods there are

great cars lackluster map. 5 is the superior game in almost every way

Its not as milsim as the community pretends it is but its good fun
