Not sure what genre to describe this game, maybe a adventure visual novel strategy game?

Got pretty far, but I really need to stop before I lose my brain cells.
Lots of people told me this was well written, idk about that, I played the snow queen, and the dialogue felt super weird, not poorly written, just some of the dialogue felt out of place.
Combat is fine, didn't have huge problems with it, and the dungeon crawling again, was fine.
PSP music is okay, definitely play this with the PS1 music patch, which is leagues better.
My least favourite thing about this game is that it's so damn grindy, 18 hours in and more then half of that was just me bashing into the dungeon walls for random encounters so I could level up my characters for Thanatos Tower.
Kinda stopped after finishing Thanatos Tower, maybe I'll go back if I wanna lose more brain cells, but looking at what the guide says for the Ice Castle, I'm not optimistic
Overall, it certainly is the first Persona game, I'd love a remake of this game that makes it way less grindy.
