Open world does not work with Souls games.

Elden Ring isn't bad, but it's definitely not this "Masterpiece" people make it out to be. My main complaint is the boss quality and open world. which hopefully the DLC can fix.

First off, my reasoning for why i think the Open World is bad, It does not reward you for exploring as much as other Souls games. which makes sense because it's well, open world but i really didn't enjoy that all you got was some spirit ash and a recycled boss. I didn't really use spirit ashes but ik people only ever used the mimic tear or tiche.

My other complaint was the boss quality. Overall, the main boss quality was better than Dark Souls 2, but that's about it. The lows aren't very low but the peaks aren't very high. If we compare them to Dark Souls 3 bosses it's not even close. Dark Souls 3 sweeps, and imo the main reason is that the game got a little too fast. Bosses barely give you any opportunities to actually attack, not to mention the contrast of ultra fast attacks with ultra delayed attacks. it just creates bosses that aren't very fun to fight.

If you're interested in Soulsbornes then you'd probably like this game, but don't come in thinking it's going to be peak Souls or else you'll be disappointed.

This game does not deserve all the hate is gets. I played the SOTFS Rerelease version and still enjoyed it, sure I did get angry at times (Looking at you Iron Keep and Shrine of Amana) but other than that Dark Souls 2 was excellent. The overall boss quality was lacking but the atmosphere and environment more than made up for it. The music was amazing especially for the last (secret) boss.

My complaints about the boss quality could not be applied to the DLC, Almost all of the bosses were enjoyable (Other than Blue Smelter Demon and King's fallen pets) and they were all amazing.

If you've played any Soulsborne game you will enjoy this if you come in with a open mind.

Lacuna is a short game about being a detective.

The games environment and atmosphere is amazing, and the music is great. The gameplay is solid and so is the story. It's worth the full price.
