Although it can sometimes feel like playing DS4, the game perfectly adapted the formula to a grandiloquent open world full of unique discoveries and sightings, with moments making you verbally say out loud ‘wow’.
The gameplay is the most varied of the serie taking only the good aspects of DS2, bringing more fighting and builds varieties to experiment.
There are many things to explore and uncover even in the tiniest details, you can feel a lot of care was put into developing the game and its universe; and although some aspects of the open world are lacking, separating pure dark souls level design from more classical dungeons construction and reused assets, you’re always eager to discover a new spot and what interesting finding you can make there whether it be a npc or bits of lore.
The major boss fights are almost all in the top of the basket of the serie, all of them being beautifully portrayed through a even more grandiloquent OST, with some really unexpected surprises up until the very last one.
This is not a game that’s going to be made anytime soon again, if you liked the formula till now this is the best conclusion possible, if you’re scared of being burned out by it, the open world will bring enough diversity to keep you engaged.
Do not miss it.
