very pretty and fun language puzzles :)

I wanted to like this one so bad!! Honestly sad I never played it as a kid because I think I would have loved it

GBA soundtrack absolutely slaps

GOTY 2022 Runner up.

The structure of piecing together a manual that you can't read, creating an authentic-feeling meta narrative of trying to understand an import game written in a language you don't know is one of the strongest concepts I've seen and I am blown away by how well it was executed. No power-up in any game I have encountered matches the thrill of finding another page of the game's instruction booklet and hoping to be able to piece together just one more fragment of the mystery that is the software you are playing. Whether it's insight into the controls of the game, bits of map to help find your way, or just beautiful illustrations which may or may not have secrets hidden within them, the sense of wonder is unmatched. Soulslike of the year tbh

GOTY 2022

Can't recall the last time I was sucked into a game like this, obsessed with getting a higher score. The developer times on the levels is what really sent this over the edge for me, but it's also highly enjoyable as a casual experience without the fervent score chasing. Incredible high energy soundtrack that didn't get old despite how many times it looped for me. I managed to get in the top 500 on the worldwide leaderboard when I finished back in August, but that has probably been blown out of the water by now. Hoping on finishing the Hell Rush when I return to this one day.
