Kind of insane how this is better than like half of the FromSoft Souls catelog. So many quality of life improvements over the established formula, interesting world, fine-tuned combat & incredible animation work. It all comes together to make one of the best action-rpgs I've ever played.

Honestly, with how many combat options Lies of P provides you, it's going to be hard to go back to any of the other souls game.

The only thing that this game is missing is a little bit more exploration, the level design becomes dull and repeats itself a little too much. Some more character customization would be nice too but that's just personal preference.

But what a fantastic and surprising game.

The combat is cool, I guess, but the story is just a convoluted mess told in an awful way.

Just beat this game for the first time and wow it's certainly a game. From lackluster combat to and a mess of a story, this game made me big sad. I'm still playing it in pursuit of the platinum so I'm not even done yet. I love having to leave my playstation on all night so I can get the survival stat up to level 10 in addition to completing 80 side quests of some of the most monotonous chores ever conceived in a video game that feels like the equivalency of watching paint dry. I've heard the story is good if you've seen the anime and watched the movie as well as play the DLC, but I shouldn't have to do all of that to enjoy a game's stories. If anything doing all of that should add to the story, not be a requirement. Although, the best part of FFXV hands down was fishing. Don't tell me otherwise.

Have yet to do DLC, but do intend on doing it in the future.

While story-wise not as nice as the second game, gameplay wise it's just perfect. I really enjoyed it as a whole with very few gripes with it.
