This game has a very cool artstyle, incredible music, and amazing character designs. Unfortunately they cheaped out where it matters most: gameplay and content. Game was free for a week and I was able to do everything the game had to offer in that time period casually. Its asking way to much for what it's actually giving.
I do think arms as an idea still has MASSIVE potential, why this didn't get a sequel but 1 2 switch could is beyond me.

This is a great side story, fun gameplay, really cool enemy designs, and incredible visuals and music. It's story isn't crazy but has some of the semi dark and cool cinematic moments that Splatoon has been quickly getting known for. I don't think it's aaaaaas impactful as Octo Expansion, but it never really had to be, it's a great time non the less.

A pretty neat tower defense game with cool gameplay where you fight alongside the towers you place.
You can only place towers on specific marked tiles for the group they are, such as blue tiles only summoner traps can be placed on.
Some say this makes the game more limiting than others in the genre and maybe technically so, but I think having to adapt to what and where you can place things makes encounters far more interesting. You have to work around what the game gives you instead of abusing optimal combinations, chokepoints, or junctions on each map.
The game unfortunately lacks any real story, and has a pretty anticlimactic nothing ending. The game doesn't have a lot of levels, but has the options to do them all over on higher tiers after you beat them all the first time, higher tiers changes what tower tiles and enemies are present as well as the overall difficulty. So in a way most of the games content is postgame, which is fine, but unfortunately the power spikes are pretty dang rough. You may be required to do a lot of harsh grinding to keep going, as of right now I feel pretty stuck at the level I'm at with not a lot to push me to keep going.
Definitely a game worth trying on a massive sale, it does still have a very satisfying abilities, satisfying skill tree, and some good music as well.

Despite being absolutely done with it after my first review for some reason I couldn't help myself but try seeing the games adventure mode to the end and completing nearly every achievement. After beating it I can absolutely say it is NOT worth it.
The later worlds of Jurassic Marsh, Big Wave Beach, and Modern Day have some of if not all the most unfun and tedious both mechanics and levels in the entire game. On top of being barraged with ads every time I beat or fail a level the games later half was just a painful slog I wished would end. Where PVZ1 ended with a bang with the mech fight and ending song this game goes out with a whimper as the final boss is just 3 copy pasted bosses from previous worlds in a random order and then that's it. No credits roll or song, no fanfare whatsoever. The only other content is live service slop that is nowhere near worth sticking around for.
If you want to play PvZ play the original or the fan PvZ2 reflourished mod. DO NOT play this live service garbage!!

This is a solid good time, improves upon the first in nearly every way, and while the single player is still a bit shallow the whole game looks, feels, and plays much better than I was expecting. A MASSIVE step up from the original, but the base asking price is still far too high. Could only recommend on a massive sale
