I had no idea until today that people think this is the black sheep of the Streets series. I liked it quite a bit! Levels are a bit long and enemies can be spongy but I still had a pretty good time with this one. Again, it probably helps that I managed to rope a friend into playing this with me, and it definitely helps that we were playing as a robotic old man and a kangaroo.
The other Streets of Rage games don't let you play as a robotic old man or a kangaroo. I rest my case.

Something about the music being auditory torture, on account of being made by an automated computer program rather than a person of flesh, and the awful localisation internationally are typically the main complaints.
I don't really remember the music being bad in this one, but to be honest I don't remember it at all whereas the other two have stuck pretty firmly in my mind.
some sor3 tracks are good but it's mainly the ones where yuzo went back into the randomization algorithms and modified them
I'm not going to like this game any less, guys. It has a kangaroo.
