Sleep has his house πŸ’

My mother rarely ever played any games as she used to enjoy watching me playing them over playing herself, I would make her get a laugh drawing swastikas on the level editor of this only to get immediately scolded
One of the only games she could play on her own, as a kid she would spent most of her summer on some miserable arcade because it was the most interesting thing to do in upper class Santiago in the 80s
The other game she not only could play on her own but actually managed to beat, she fucking hated it
Amidst a match I was having with some peruvian guy via fightcade she would enter my room while I was calling him racial slurs after winning, she scolded me between laughs, I'm very fond of this memory
Trying to cry myself to sleep my dad randomly entered my room, very roughly tried to pronounce and translate this game's title to spanish and offered me a beer which I regret refusing
I used to play the awful SNES version alongside my dad, we only had 1 controller so we never got to know it was single player only.
My love for shmups most likely comes from playing this on those awful PS2 emulators alongside my dad, coin-spamming and bombing at every available oportunity
My dad entered my room while I was playing this and went "Ah, such a brilliant game", having 1cc'd a bit less than a 100 shmups I can say it totally is a brilliant game
Anime specifically Eva were such hits in Chile even my pre-dictatorship born father got to see it when it aired, I know he was going through inmense struggle at the time so I wonder if he got any relief from it, all I know is he liked it bc "It was fun"
It's a bit embarrasing that this is one of the only games I got to play with my younger brother, doubt he even remembers it by now, I could've done better

Pretty much the only thing I played with a long gone friend who took his life, I vividly remember this awful song in one of the chilean league hacks
