Despite being one of the oldest platformers still a great time, and a game that tries to differentiate its levels more than you would think. A shame about repeated levels, but knowing Nintendo if they were to shorten it to 7 worlds, every Mario games after would have 7 worlds.

Mario's first outing is a pretty solid one. The physics are kinda eh and some of the castles kinda blow without a guide but it's still a fun time.

If you view the game more as an arcade title similar to other games at the time then a lot of the design choices make a lot of sense, imo. That being said, the modern 2D Mario series is definitely more accessible and refined.

Honestly still a fun replay.

Yeah, it's a classic, but you have no reason to go back to this when Mario 3 and Mario World both exist.

Pretty much exactly the same as the original, but with modern graphics. This is good, because Demon's Souls is good.

It's actually crazy how Bluepoint manages to make these remakes look so incredible, but the gameplay is miraculously unchanged.

(they fucked up the music tho)
