The start of the "revival" era of Resident Evil.

"Resident Evil 7: Biohazard" takes the franchise to Dulvey, Louisiana, for a new story with a terrifying family. Ethan Winters finds himself travelling to Louisiana to look for his wife, Mia Winters. She sent him an email with the location and told him, "Come get me." Obviously, he listens to the email, and travels to Dulvey to look for her. A great reimagining of the 1998 original. I go back to the game every so often and realize just how good it is.

Pros:
- Better gameplay that is easier to get used to
- Terrifying moments
- Good playtime (not too long or short)
- Leon feels more like a rookie than the original
- Claire is more of a badass, which I enjoy
- Brought RE2 back in a way that allows newer fans to enjoy (essentially) the full RE2 story
- Had a bigger focus on characterization, which does the game well and makes you feel more for the characters

Cons:
- 2nd Run scenarios are lacking (compared to the original A/B scenarios)
- DLC could be better (I would've enjoyed other outfits for other characters, like a classic Ada dress)
- Doesn't reference RE1's events as much as the original, which can also be a pro, but I'm counting it as a con because that story is integral to the franchise as a whole
- Ada's FBI story isn't as believable as her John story from the original RE2
- I enjoyed the original RE2 exploration and whatnot a lot more, and I think I enjoyed the general story more in that game too

Overall, the game is well worth a playthrough and I've enjoyed every second that I have spent playing it.
