loved it!! it looks so good... rock's (mega man's) run cycle is a little awkward, but i got used to it. and hooray bass! bass was a lot of fun. where did roll go though?? she has a sprite, couldn't they have just put her in the lab or something? it feels super weird because she just vanishes lol. i feel like she could have had an interesting role in the story too, but i understand the limitations of the style.

anyway, actual gameplay critique - bosses felt super easy, generally, except for bass and wily, where the difficulty went up by a lot. i decided to beat wily without using any tanks or rush, just to add some challenge at the end. it made the game last about 10 hours longer (literally!) but i feel glad for doing it. the fight would be fine if it weren't for how the fire works - you get hit once, and it freezes you and takes a quarter of your health! also, SUPER short i-frames in this game; i think they were too short. other than that, really fun:)

this is one of the games ever of all time. i've replayed it probably more than any other game in my life. its silly voice acting has played so many times that i no longer register it as weird, it sounds 100% normal to me. i know every single line. i prefer playing as zero, but x's route is fun too. the only flaw this game has is the jump you have to make to get the arm parts, and that it wayyy overcompensates for weapon energy (first game in the x series where you get your energy back when you die, and they add a weapon energy tank, AND the helmet completely removes weapon energy drain at all (unless you charge the shot)! literally what is going on). other than that i really have no complaints, it's just... kinda perfect

(played through the Mega Man X Legacy Collection)

i love this game and you should never ever ever ever EVER play it. EVER.

i adore this collection it ruined my life. i knocked off half a star because i really wish it had the x3 saturn cutscenes ANYWHERE on it, but other than that it's great. input lag isn't noticeable if you're a newcomer, and only feels really bad to me on the switch. playstation and pc still feel fine after hundreds of hours
