One of the best couch mulitplayer games out there. There isn't much I can say that hasn't already been said about Mario Kart Wii, but it's plain good fun. Plenty of unlockables, multiple modes and a fairly expansive Kart system.

One of the best RPG Maker horror games I've played. Made by fans of some of the classics, for fans of the classics. Both the art and music in this game is absolutely GORGEOUS. I love the music in particular, the tracks in this game are on a professional level of composition. Puzzles are well on par with The Witch's House (which arguably has some of best the puzzles in RPGMH) and the story is great. Each area has a unique theming that connects to the overarching plot and the various endings are satisfyingly horrific and/or depressing (or a feeling of resolve in the case of the true ending). My only gripe are a few of the more difficult puzzles, which don't exactly have a very clear solution, and some of the auto-chase segments are a bit too tedious. Writing is great, story has a unique twist, art and setting is beautiful, all of the music is a bop, and most of the gameplay is engaging.

Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story is the peak and pinnacle of the series. Both the bros and Bowser have fun to use move-sets, with Mario & Luigi having their returning attacks polished. The game combines 3D puzzles via the overworld with 2D puzzles in Bowser's body, allowing for the best of both worlds. There is also a good bit of side content, with some satisfying rewards alongside them. The story is pretty good as well, particularly in the character department. Bowser is good fun as always and his humor is great. Fawful is possibly one of the best villains in the Mario series, his personality being a breath of fresh air from the somewhat generic maniacal villain stereotype that Cackletta and Princess Shroob had. Overall, a very good turn-based RPG.

I grew up with this game. I have a biased viewpoint towards its quality, but I don't think anyone can deny that it is a solid platformer and RPG. Diverting away from the turn-based formula, Super Paper Mario utilizes a slightly more developed version of the 2D Super Mario playstyle, keeping the level-up system from previous Paper Mario games, the partner system (which has been dumbed down significantly), and various other turn-based RPG elements like items and a timing system. It's not the most ideal way to play an RPG. They sprinkle puzzles into the levels, which are admittedly very creative, but can sometimes get frustratingly annoying to complete (particularly when you have to backtrack, which just isn't fun in general). That's the basic gist of the gameplay, and it definitely takes some getting used to if you played the two before this one. Where the game really shines, as most people are aware, is its very elaborate story. Very rarely does a Mario game have a tale that can truly make people feel anything past a very general sense of thrill, amusement or frustration. This is one of those games that does. The compelling cast of both new and returning characters, coinciding with the tragedies the player is forced to witness or are told stories of, really make this game have an insanely good plot. I've really enjoyed playing this game multiple times and recommend that people at least give it a try.

Truly a masterpiece of a horror game, and a free one at that. Ib has so much of a mysterious nature behind it, that you're continually left with the longing to explore the distorted and horrifying world the developer places you in. The most famed dynamic of this game isn't even the puzzles, which are well-designed and unique to each area. Most people love this game for its character dynamic, specifically between the three main (and pretty much only) characters. Despite being a silent protagonist, Ib is able to masterfully convey her feelings to her cohorts via her actions. Gary and Mary, the other two playable characters, also have diverse traits that wonderfully paint them as opposites and rivals to each other.

This is my favorite entry in the entire series. Yakuza 5 is an amazing experience to go through and by far one of the best in the series. A lot of people gripe on this game for its story, which has issues with pacing (something not uncommon by this point in a series). It can also get fairly confusing and illogical, but I personally see that as an embodiment of the series. It takes itself seriously while also having plenty of ridiculous moments that introduce new minigames and side quests. Highly recommend this game.

One of my favorite games of all time, albeit one of the FIRST games I ever played so there is some bias to that. Mario Galaxy is an amazingly creative 3D platform, not only throwing levels completely unique to the Mario series in every world, but also introducing a variety of gameplay mechanics which don't feel forced and are adjusted to pretty naturally. Almost every mission in this game tries something new. Even when it doesn't (specifically with end-game missions), There is plenty of welcome variation that deviates from the player from the original path of the level. It's an insanely fun platformer made for all ages.

It's true that this game brings nothing new to the table, but I swear there is something so charming about it that I can't put my finger on. It might be character design, or it could be the branching path system, but this just ended up being a game I really enjoyed. The characters, while not amazing, I was able to feel sad for. It's really no different from a larger visual novel aside from the short length. Anyways if you're looking for a story with a lot of depth to it, you won't find it here. But if you're okay with a simple Yandere story, it really isn't bad at all and conveys itself well.
