Wow, I’ve never played one of these but I’m absolutely eating this up. So much charm and simplicity, leaving it all for you to fill. I LOVE that you can jam on a little drumkit. Went and got superb on the first three stages.

Liking this a lot more than the first. Kind of worried that it’ll get boring once I start going through loops.

Side-questing in Costa. That beach date quest was a little tedious, at least the crabs were.

Finally open to leave Costa. The immensity of this game is starting to bear down on me, but I’m just taking it slowly.

19

Beat the Costa beach fight. Honestly, I’m having a lot of fun with minigames and such but the story just continues to lose me slowly. I feel like they’re not doing anything meaningful with the new changes. Hopefully I’ll be proved wrong.

13

At the cruise ship to Costa. The Seventh was hilarious.

12

Completed all Junon Intel. Can’t believe I’m not burned out, and in fact excited for more. Junon parade was really fun.

11

I’m really impressed by the exploration. Feels completely fresh in this new area still, no open world fatigue yet. Beautiful location and the verticality of it is awesome. Fort Condor is more fun than I remember in Intergrade.

Finished Under Junon section, exploring now

05

Reached Junon. I think some of the Mythril Cave design was pretty unengaging. Specially some of the “puzzles”, kind of felt like just padding.

03

Completed the Grasslands. Feels so great to do the side content, I’m usually exhausted by open worlds at this point. Titan was a fun challenge.

Side questing in the grasslands. Barely scraping by boss fights, difficulty is feeling pretty decent. Crazy how much unique music is in this thing.

this game feels massive, loving it so far

Reached Chocobo Ranch.

Not as concise and inspired an intro as Remake’s (which is really because it’s the original game’s opening). The opening Nibelheim segment, while mostly well executed, is a little long for my taste. Loved Kalm, such a dense, seemingly alive town. Queen’s Blood is pretty fun. Combat feels great and team-up attacks are awesome.

Making my way through January.

I feel like the escalation of the stakes felt more forced than in P3, where you had hints and exposure much earlier. Technically there were some here too, but it didn’t hint that the stakes were THIS high. Still, it’s interesting enough in retrospect but is kind of jarring when you go through it.

16

Damn things are going down. Unlocked Nanako’s dungeon.
