flawless stealth game. the controls are a bit arcane but they were ahead of their time

strictly worse splinter cell: chaos theory, but what it does it does perfectly, and is exactly what i wanted from a game. excellent execution on a small scale

the core gameplay loop just didn't hit for me, battles felt a little too uninvolved and fetch quests too prevalent. would recommend to any hardcore jrpg fans though, worth trying either way.

also the female characters were a little lacking and fanservice-y, to my memory, but it's been a good while so don't quote me on that

easily the best remake, and full of heart.

go in blind, and prepare to hurt. this is a piece of art, and deliberately so.

for the majority of people, this game will be much better experienced as a video essay. it is absolutely worth playing, but i can't really recommend that anyone do so.
