still on a mario tear here, like many classic mario games this is yet another home run for nintendo
what can i say, the graphics are bright and colorful, the level designs are varied with lots of different little objectives, secret areas, and small details that bring the different worlds within the paintings to life
the sound design is iconic, mario going OOMPH when he gets hit is something that never gets old SO LONG GAY BOWSER the sound of mario punching a goomba is so weighty and good, and the music my god the music just never stops pwning
one of the more popular criticisms of this game i see from people especially those who have played newer 3d games and didnt live through that 2d to 3d transitional period is the controls
for me the controls are wonderful, you can slip and slide mario in any direction, do side jumps on a whim, back flip, triple jump, long jump, mario controls like a dream in this. and the camera is also really good for an early 3d title, there are some problem areas, particularly the top of wet dry world as a for instance, where the camera gets stuck on the level geometry and gets in the way of the player, but with a simple click you can change camera types and fix it so its really on the player for not using the options available to them if they have an issue
but yeah that gripe(with noobs) aside i adore this game, play it and at least beat it, if not 100% it and find all the stars, youll have a blast

one of the best action jrpgs ever made, and its multiplayer so you can experience the beauty of this game with a friend or two
but yeah graphics, music, story, everything is top notch here. one common complaint people seem to have with it is that they dont like to wait and run around after an attack but these selfsame sons of snakes playing dark souls and loving that same kind of gameplay
this is a certified must play, its one of the most amazing games ever made. if you have any cpus, make sure you look through your innovative ring menu system to find the ai settings, it makes your computer controlled characters fit your playstyle and it should help you enjoy this game even more

for me my personal favorite mario game
as a young child growing up my first game i ever played was smb and being able to be alive during the transition from 8bit to 16bit was a wonderful thing to behold, as lo, super mario world appeared to bring nintendo gaming to a new age
while some of the iconic powerups from smb3 were lost, theres only one new powerup(not including the p balloon here its temporary and doesnt replace what youve got) and its the feather cape
and thats all it needed because flying around stages only restricted by your ability to stay afloat is up there in gratification with the innumerable pleasures we humans encounter throughout our lives
the sheer variety in the different sections of the game, yet the introduction of a large singular overworld map so the levels also dont feel as disjointed, breathed new life into what the super mario franchise could do and this design has been oft repeated in later entries due to how spectacularly well it works
this is just one of the most fun games ive ever played, if there are any nitpicks its that as a launch title there are some bugs and glitches that can pop up even in normal gameplay, but nothing significantly mars the experience to a degree worth mentioning its just superb
edit:
oh my god there was so much to go over i forgot even with the snide mfer right on the cover
yoshi in da haus yall
