omori as a game commits emotional terrorism on the player in areas that i didnt think a game could ever touch. from fear to anxiety to depression to even pure utter emptiness this game stabs you in the back with it all even when you’re most expecting it. the characters are full of life, the art style is wonderful and the rpg sections keep you occupied between story scenes. one of those games i wish i can play for the first time again

incredibly satisfying roguelite with a skill ceiling high enough to reward the best of the best, and grindy enough for those who don’t have what it takes to get through in one go (me). the gameplay loop is like crack, and is only made better by its banging soundtrack and charismatic characters. I’m not the biggest fan of the art style but it’s all preference. after the first few times of beating the game the game becomes a grindfest that only gets easier (bad).

celeste is one of those games that you have to play to experience the utter vast amount of emotions this game puts you through. as for the main gameplay loop, the platforming is one of, if not the best in the industry with crisp movement, clear lines when they need to be clear, unique gimmicks and difficulty high enough to where the satisfaction you get from beating a level makes you want to hang it up on the fridge. these are only accentuated by the story of madeline, putting the player in the shoes of someone who has to tackle the climb of a mountain, and the anxiety that comes from death. beautiful game that is a must play for anyone who enjoys platformers even a smidge.
