I admit it, whenever I was playing the original I always found myself wishing that instead of the enemies reacting to getting shot, they'd instead unflinchingly tank through four bullets to the face from a fully upgraded blacktail until they suddenly and awkwardly fall over dead (gory head explosions are overrated). Doing away with the idiosyncratic gameplay of firing at different bodyparts with an emphasis on crowd control in favor of making RE4 play like every other over the shoulder third person shitter where you squatwalk around shivving people (just liek mah favorite cinematic father&daughter sim, The Evil Within 2) and instantly delete everything with a shotgun that you can always craft more ammo for has truly elevated it into a quality product that will be remembered for months to come.
