Terrible motion controls hamper what is otherwise a solid rerun of Warioware Smooth Moves. News at 11.

I've been waiting on a Smooth Moves sequel for a long time, so I'm happy this exists, but it has a lot of glaring problems. For one, certain forms just dont work. The Hand Model pose uses the inaccurate joycon ar camera, an outdated piece of tech that needs at least 3 seconds to detect anything, which doesnt work in a 5 second microgame. The Pounce pose is also way too ambitious, and the short joycon straps often have you failing due to light hand movement getting detected.

These two poses kind of kneecap any endless play, because they are way too unreliable for Warioware, reminding me of that DSi camera one. The other flaw this game has is this excessive tutorials required for new players. Expect to spend 10-15 minutes with each new player to give them time to learn the poses, and how to use them practically. If you don't, you're going to look like a dork as you win every single match due to familiarity.

For 50$, there's really a lacking amount of content. Why Nintendo doesn't price Warioware at 25$ on the eshop is beyond me. They never really feel as polished as a typical Nintendo first party release, which is fine if they were just a little cheaper. Hell, cut out the voice acting to save money, because its sub-4Kids and has fallen past charming into the red zone. If you want to know what not having a voice director looks like, here you go.

Because Warioware is still charming, and doing stupid poses to play minigames is still incredibly novel, I can't DISLIKE the game. It's cute, lots of the forms work surprisingly well if you follow the exact instructions, and the final stage is the most predictable but worthy callback to Smooth Moves. Just...50$ is a little tough to swallow when it's a game you might get 10 hours out of with the right crowd.

On a scale of Sonic 06 to Ocarina of Time, this is a solid 6/10.

Having tried out the beta I was optimistic in thinking that maybe the rest of the campaign would be better, but to put it simply no it's not good, it sucks and it would be a waste of money if I didn't get it for free
