Whittling this list down and organizing it was agony. You can think of the first 3 as tied for first place, and none of them need an introduction. They are each my favorite entry in their respective genres. This is probably the greatest year for videogames of all time by my metric. Lost Levels is my favorite Mario game and it's in last place here, if that tells you anything.
