Choose between a Helicopter Gunship or an Armoured Jeep and prepare to enter enemy territory as part of the elite assault team of SPECIAL WEAPONS INTERDICTION VEHICLES. Battle against enemy 'copters, thanks, hovercraft, snowmobiles, mechanised flying fish, giant weapons installations andmuch more in this vertically scrolling shot 'em up. Probably my first good experience with a euroshmup. The weapons feel great once you start upgrading them, and the multi-directional aiming with the jeep is both extremely natural and satisfying. The weakpoints come not from anything it does per-se, but just being too long without switching up the visuals enough. If this game were half as long I could see myself bumping it 1 or 2 points.

Might give the Genesis version a try someday.

A bit strange. You can choose between two vehicles to play as, but both are a little bit finicky. The jeep is a bit easier and can fire in eight directions so I settled with that, but its shots always lock on regardless of the movements you make, which isn't too helpful with a lot of enemies from all sides.

As someone who emulates all my older games, I tend to forget the L and R buttons exist on the SNES controller after playing so many Genesis games. They help you switch weapons here, and up until stage 3 I was only using the lousy default choice because I didn't discover this until then. It became a lot more enjoyable once I found this out.

Sunsoft are generally lauded for their soundtracks, but I really found this one to be lacking. Everything seemed to go in one ear and out the other, which normally I wouldn't point out but again they threw out a lot of great soundtracks in their prime, even (especially, actually) on the NES.
