Was insanely cool getting to finally experience this, it's pretty much the same as the original GBA game, but with a few harder versions of the first 6 levels.
A really cool novelty!

recently found out i live within reasonable driving distance of a round 1, and discovered this cabinet tucked away in a lonely corner. it's literally just tengoku but more fun cuz it has 2 player functionality and is in a public space. realizing they still even had this machine around was equally as exciting as getting to actually play it.

I was able to play this at an anime convention I went to, greatest experience of my life.

unsuitable subtlety. approached this machine astonished that it even existed. sad to find it didnt feel right even when my buttons were functional. rhythm heaven condenses and simplifies rhythm games into something made for a relaxed, comfortable space. it does not have the flashy glamour that an arcade rhythm experience thrives with.
yeah it's rhythm heaven and it's still freakin fun to play but i bounced off it so hard and made a mental note to play some fever later when i got a chill chance.

The arcade port of rhythm tengoku is pretty much the GBA game but with higher quality audio, higher res graphics, and a bonus remixed setlist with harder songs. I was lucky enough to live in San Francisco at a time where there was an arcade with a cabinet of this there, so I completed this there. That place is no longer with us anymore, so pour one out for that cabinet, wherever it is. Despite running on naomi hardware I don't think this emulates properly as the gameplay and sound aren't synced so your only real option is to pray you can find a cabinet or buy a PCB yourself.
