Amazing storyline, great cast of characters, improved a lot of mechanics from the first title, easier to handle even for newcomers, AND THANK GOD WE GOT THE CLASSIC CHARACTER DESIGN BACK!

Hard to say if I like the story here more than the first Halo Wars. The Banished are a hell of a lot more intriguing a villian than the Covenant were and playing as them in the flood DLC was fun and actually made me connect to them more than I thought it would. Still though, knowing these are the enemies in Halo: Infinite makes me really confused why they were introduced in this game. The overlap of people who play main-series Halo titles and ones that play this seem not that big, and risks connecting their story to a game that most people probably haven't played. Having played this before going into Infinite, it'll be interesting to see how they handle introducing the Banished for all the people that didn't play this game.

Looks pretty, and maybe more balanced? With a solid story, and cool new vehicles. But like...Idk, I am still MADLY salty that the deceived me on what population increases actually met. In reality, the armies were hardly at all larger. That was honestly one of the few improvements I was genuinely looking forward to so. L.

Not my style of game but i see the potential. Best halo story since 4

The campaign missions aren't as interesting as the first one, but they did challenge me a bit more which I enjoyed.

A step up form the the first game, this one was a bit more challenging but I enjoyed it. The cutscenes in the campaign were pretty cool and story was good. I also had fun on the multiplayer side of things and the extra characters were nice to have

it’s like if they made halo but age of empires 2

I actually liked the first one better despite being a way simpler game and needing QOL fixes this game brought. The Banished was a cool new faction and Atriox was a compelling character, but the story kind of just ends with a sputter because they want to keep content for books, comics and other Halo games.

Really enjoyed this one, probably the best console friendly version of an RTS to date.

that one cutscene where the carrier was split in half man that was the best shit ever

Halo Wars 2 is a serviceable console FPS that really doesn't do anything that special or different. The gameplay is a bit on the simple side, but the real draw of the game is it advancement of the Halo storyline, namely as the setup for Halo Infinite.

The game itself has ample modes and different armies, but the RTS gameplay itself is not that compelling or novel. It feels very dumbed down in a way that invokes the early days of console RTS games.

I enjoyed my time with the game, but that's almost exclusively due to the outstanding cutscenes that provide a bulk of the story in the game.

If you are looking for a deep and engaging console RTS, you would be better served looking elsewhere.

Amazing Story, gameplay is mostly the same to that of Halo Wars 1. Seeing how this game takes place after Halo 5, does a great job introducing a new faction of evil that is the Banished, terrifying enemies. Like with Wars 1, mostly played for the story, after that left it alone. But great to play if you have an Xbox one, or a PC

Great RTS game and great Halo lore. Need to play this game a lot more, haha

I don't even like RTSs. Like, at all. But I've watched too much Zanny to talk shit about this game.

grinded all day after school when it came out

My 3rd favorite RTS game that's all you need to know

starcraft 2 coop commander simulator

I absolutely love that they continued the story of the Spirt of Fire without retconning anything. Lots of cool lore stuff for a Halo head like myself.

Wishing they'd make another game.

This is like having an old shitty car and replacing it with a new one, and like it’s engine is better, and it goes faster and it looks more “modern”, but you still kinda miss the old one. That car might have looked “older” but it kinda looked cooler than the new one, and it still ran well, and you know what the old one had some god damn personality.

the main campaign is.... fine
the banished one however, hold a candle to Starcraft 2, at least with creative mission design. For that alone, it's worth it.
