a game that puts its protagonists through an endless gauntlet of condescending misery porn because it's so smug, witless, and myopic in its politics that it can't think of another way to generate empathy for them. dug the first Life is Strange but this is one of the worst games ever made, honestly

I really liked this game until it was talked about 24/7 and I dedicated my life to an edit account of this game

it's good, it has interesting themes and discussions and the first episode was SO strong. but something's missing... and i don't know what that is at this point -- it's been 5 years for me.

tired of pretending that this isn't the best life is strange game, i cried more for lis2 than i did for both lis1 and before the storm combined and i can't even give an exact reason why. UGH. the story of these two brothers made me feel so emotional and i loved every second of it. also, i really appreciate how your choices actually have an impact in this game, influencing daniel and ultimately resulting in a variety of endings. ITS JUST SO GOOD AND I LOVE IT SM.

the most underrated storytelling in the LIS universe.
Even if the powers aspect is too overwhelming the way it deals with issues of the day immigration/fascism/lack of trust in law enforcement etc case this version to stand on it's own
the brothers relationship creates a dynamic that allows for an exploration of the bond between the people you love and the people who who need you.
I think its been downhill after this run for LIS the recent games are fine but this is the one I think about the most.

The story was a nice change of pace from Life is Strange 1, but I wish we could have played as Daniel. Playing as Sean made it feel like just babysitting most of the time. However, the game seems to have a high degree of replayability.

I like this game because it takes place over a fairly long span of time and many places in the country. It's a brothers first before anything else, and your choices matter because your brother makes his own choices. There are a couple of surprising familiar faces along the way, and there will always be unintended consequences.

play it with friends, its better that way! xD

Children cannot be prosecuted + Kid with powers and no moral compass = Infinite get out of Jail Free cards

Awful, unlikable characters who are thrust into ridiculous scenarios, terrible dialogue, poor line delivery from the VA's and a story where next to nothing happens. You'll find yourself screaming "DO SOMETHING" while playing the game as it drags on and on. The protagonists are two young boys who never take accountability for their actions and just whine and complain over and over again. Each beat the story takes is just so dull, the cast are such stereotypes or cliches that you know exactly what's going to happen next. I'll give it a 1 for just the laughs the game gave me especially at the ending, but I wouldn't recommend it for that alone.

Please... Just finish already...

When you're stuck in a border camp you get a dialog choice asking if you're feeling pessimistic or optimistic about racism.

i'll never forget playing this game

This game is like an ignored younger sibling trying desperately to live up to its older sibling's success. Which I think is fucking tragic because I enjoyed this game substantially more. Truly a masterpiece.

A View From The Heitz: Life is Strange 2 is a new story by the team at DONTNOD that follows two brothers through a journey full of extraordinary situations. The relationship building and acting in this game is a huge step up from the original Life is Strange. Thankfully Life is Strange 2 never hits the lows of the original but also struggles to hit the highs.

Life is Strange 2 doesn't stray far from the formula that made the first game such a darling in peoples eyes. You will follow the main protagonists through 5 chapters, making dialogue choices a long the way, some of which have long lasting implications on how the story plays out. There continues to be a supernatural element to the story that does not directly impact the game-play like the rewind power did, but is central to the development of the characters and their relationships.

Small tangent, It's interesting to play this game that deals with timely issues about race and equality in the US during this Trump filled era, especially as seen from an outsiders eyes. It makes you almost realize, just how much of a joke we are right now to the rest of the world.

Outside of pacing issues, this is definitely a sequel I can recommend especially if you enjoy well written, narrative, choice driven stories.

Olha eu tenho problemas com life IS strange, odeio o primeiro game apesar de ter de certas coisas legais.
Então minhas expectativas pro 2 eram bem baixas, mas me surpreendi.

no lis has made me go this crazy my god

begins with an EXCELLENT premise, mostly follows through on it. dialogue is a lot less life-is-strangey than the first two games (this is a double-edged sword - it means in turn that the majority of the cast is a lot less memorable) but the writing takes a step back in how addresses virtually all of its themes. there are some really poignant ideas at play in this story, but when you make every single antagonistic character more of a cartoon stereotype of a racist person than a well-rounded character with bigoted or otherwise harmful beliefs, it starts getting frustrating. i especially started to notice that around episode 4. as somebody else on this site already said: the game is far too obvious when it needs to be complex, or at least a little more subtle.

despite that i think this MIGHT be the best life is strange game, for two reasons. as much as i love max and chloe in LiS1, sean and daniel's dynamic being both extremely lovable as well as very malleable to the choices that the player makes feels like such a natural progression for the series to go to. i never thought of my choices in LiS1 to "not matter" as some people put it, but i do feel like every bit of dialogue you choose matters significantly more in this game. apparently a lot of people really disagree with me on that one but building up to an ending based in part on how you raise your kid brother feels pretty noteworthy to me... again, though, that can feel like a double-edged sword because the game doesn't always know how to make its different options appear compelling; it can feel so extremely risky to do the "wrong" option that it's pretty easy to just straight up avoid certain options altogether. there are exceptions like the decision to steal from the gas station during episode 1, but by the time you reach a certain point the choices you face are just [AWFUL FUCKING IDEA/LET'S NOT DO THAT]. but still!!!!!!! pretty good. i think once i play true colors i'll have my preference between this and the arcadia bay story figured out

I honestly love this more than the first game. As a story and as a game, it really makes bold and necessary additions to make it the perfect sequel.

This game actually frustrates me because the story and it’s two lead characters had so much potential to be really emotionally investing but I forgot the Life is Strange games can’t write for shit. This isn’t good but could have been.

The voice acting is also some real hot dookie. The worst I’ve heard in a while.

Dontnod's fully-fledged sequel to Life is Strange cannot quite capture the same magic of the first game, with a pretty jarringly inconsistent road trip adventure between two brothers on the run. There were parts of Life is Strange 2 I really connected with and others I totally rolled my eyes at. It's no surprise that the game wasn't nearly the hit that the first title was with this sort of shocking inconsistency, but they tried something different. That being said, I'm not sure if the hangout teenage angst vibe of the series really worked well with the fugitives story this takes on. I didn't expect "the wall" to make a late appearance in this, that's for sure.

Yeah... yeah, it's definitely strange.

this is the type of game that's so bad that it almost makes u agree with the horrible losers that piss their pants every time they see a gay person in a game
but then they start talking and i become that gus fring meme
