I remembered when I was 8 and I got to the part where you have to sacrifice a hero for I think Ghost Rider or something and I chose Spider-man cause I didn't read the text and I cried.

20/10, best game ever, this was the first game I ever played and I played it with my brother in the pandemic to see if it holds up and it's still brilliant fun and just as good as I remember it to be, my brother also agrees with me. Combat never gets old, every level is super unique, there are so many customisations and choices for teams. Best game, fight me

This is one of the best Marvel games in terms of its variety of characters, levels, and bosses. It basically combines every major Marvel character and storyline all into one game which is pretty great, but gameplay-wise it's definitely LACKING.

was intending on beating the game but i forgot to save and lost like 3 hours of progress so i think im good

Frames of this game are burned into my brain.

This was the first video game I ever played. While raven's evident enthusiasm for the source material and appealing presentation compared to other budget titles of the era are notable, Marvel Ultimate Alliance can be a somewhat entertaining romp for comic fans, and a droll slog for everyone else. Also the game is completely unbuyable anywhere thanks to a copyright dispute between activision and disney, not to mention that the "remastered" version that was available on steam for a short time is extremely slapdash and buggy.

Very forgettable game in the end but I had my share of fun with it as a kid.

A Marvel universe epic, a beautifully fun action RPG, all of Raven's experience gave us this, Marvel Ultimate Alliance and it's one of my favorite games of all time. You want a tour of the Marvle universe visiting all the famous places with a big roster of heroes? This is your game! Mods also breathe new life into this game so I definately recommend that

"And now I'm better at doing whatever it is Wolverine does!"

I was already into comics growing up, so this game just a treasure cove of content for a fan like me to sink in too, It also got me discovering characters like Deadpool who I now consider a big MARVEL classic.

Okay now that nostalgia over I played the HD remaster a few months back, and the game was errr fine I liked it more as a kid and it definitely had more going for it then 2 which I played when it came out then againa few months back.

Still there's a lot to do with collectibles and character specific challengers to get cool costumes each character has 4 and 2 only gave you 1 and almost all sucked shit.

Overall a fun game but not one worth replaying, but hey I had a lot of memories!

Excelsior!

Everything about this game was so fucking awesome when I played it as a kid. Still my favourite all-time Marvel game. (Along with Insomniac's Spider-Man).

Doom in this is the best version I've ever seen. He's just so godlike as a villain and the story is just amazing. One of the best you'll ever see.

Gameplay is good, enemies can be a bit tedious and annoying but still fun to beat some bad guys in an epic RPG which thrives on the story it is telling.

So much to do, so much to see. I just love it! Definitely check it out if you haven't ever.

Get it on PS4 / Xbox One and you get to play as some spicy villains! Woooo!

Bottom line, this game rocks!

a childhood classic for me. it felt right to play this around christmas time, i was feeling nostalgic and this hit in just the right place. mods on pc for the original 2006 version are an absolute game-changer, you can play as just about any marvel character you'd possibly want and you can have up to 50 characters in one roster. utterly insane. this still holds a special place in my heart for introducing me to the wider marvel universe when i was just a wee lad playing this on the wii lad, and the fact that this game now has basically unlimited possibilities brings me so much joy. can't wait to play this time and time again for many years to come

(team was spider-man, mary jane watson, aunt may, and nick fury)

it's a pretty standard button-mash party ARPG but god damn it has SOUL. at the time of release it felt like the most faithful and passionate Marvel game out there. it probably still is, honestly.

One of the best Marvel games of all time! Highly recommend!

Dark Alliance but with Spiderman instead of a drunken dwarf (worse)

A perfect example of how beloved characters can disguise a bad game.

Why is this game enjoyable? Because you get to be your favorite heroes with your friends and fight memorable villains.

But take away the IP, and what do you have? Numb, mindless repetition. Now, some people are into that, and that's fine! But this is the kind of game that works best when you're young and will play anything as long as it's got co-op.

Ghost Rider's chains are so strong they are even stronger than Hank Pym's "Backhand Janet" move

Hasn't aged very well. The game looks terrible and extremely dated, with bleak environments. The mix of ultimate designs and classic designs for characters is a weird choice that characters such as Wolverine and Thor suffer for. But a lot of the alternate suits are nice callbacks for comic fans.

The basic gameplay is basic and repetitve. The actual good skills that are unique to each hero (and their powers) are pretty decently fun to use but often will cause energy to drain so fast that you're forced to go back to annoying melee mashing that feels extremely soulless.

The story is overall good, it is a little cheesy and the voice acting is pretty terrible (extremely over-acted) but it takes you to a variety of comic locations and lets you meet plenty of characters that you're kept invested on where you'll go next.

Overall I'd say it's worth playing if you're a fan of comic books (maybe not just the movies/shows though as quite a bit of this is oldschool obscure) but the gameplay really does drag the score down.

got cockblocked on the first level when i wass 7. very bad game

the game itself is fine but the real winner here was playing this at an impressionable age and hearing the character voices from this one every time i read the comics and that didn’t change and that hasn’t changed

childhood game, i have beat this game and bought it so many times, its just so good

Extremely fun game to play with friends or family.
Made me appreciate other Marvel characters. Also Atlantis level sucks.

This review contains spoilers

This game has a scene where you have to drop one of your friends into a pit of lava while the one you spare calls you a terrible person.

Back when Marvel media was actually great

Add in the fact that you can assemble your own team of heroes with a good story and extremely fun levels and bosses and you have one of the best superhero games ever made.

A blast wish more games like this existed

played for the first time on hard difficulty, while also using the expanded game mod for the first time. the good news is hard difficulty was a refreshing way to play this game i've played about a thousand times now, and that's coming from someone who fucking hates playing on hard difficulties. the bad news is the expanded game mod is not balanced well for hard difficulty at all. the new york city level and the second section of the time warp level are WAY too fucking hard and tedious, while the additions to act 5, specifically the 3 new bosses, are actively fucking miserable. the worst part is they aren't optional like a lot of the additions in this mod, so you either have to power through bosses that do an insane amount of damage and have an insane amount of health OR just play as an overpowered character like the galactus mod i had. i had him on my roster simply because i wanted it to be themed after the fantastic four, and i never planned as playing him, but i had to bust him out to get through these sections. i'll probably play this mod again in the future on normal difficulty to see if it's balanced better there, because i wholeheartedly cannot recommend anyone play the expanded game mod on hard. still love this modding community and it amazes me that something like the expanded game can even exist, but playing it on hard difficulty just isn't it

Peak. re-release this again so i can buy it on steam
