I was a dumb child who only played Madden/CoD until I was around 14, so I'm still catching up on great single player games. I'm pretty picky with them, cause if I'm gonna spend time by myself doing nothing but gaming, I need something truly great.
Scale:
0.5 - Literally the worst games of all time.
1- Hated it/awful game.
2 - Disliked it but had some good qualities/below average game.
3 - Liked it/good game but had too many problems to be higher.
4 - Loved it/great game, wasn't at the level of perfection needed to be a 5.
5 - My favorite games/the GOATs.
All of the in betweens are exactly that, in between the levels. Ie: 2.5 is a perfectly average game.

Feel like I've played this game enough by now to finally give it a concrete rating. I quite like Palworld. Pokemon ripoff that it is, still makes for a very fun core gameplay loop. Doesn't really stand up to the titans of the genre like your Minecrafts or anything, but there's plenty of time to expand upon the game and I look forward to seeing how they do so.
Played this co-op with my girlfriend. The co-op mechanics are honestly garbage, this game feels 15x as frustrating as any solo Mario game I've ever played. Constantly bouncing off each other's heads into death, the screen pulling, etc. As a co-op experience, which I played it as, it's honestly not fun. The world design leaves a lot to be desired too, feels like a rehash of a lot of 2D Mario ideas. Probably my least favorite 2D Mario, but I haven't played them all. Definitely my least favorite co-op. Bummer. I'll stick to stuff like It Takes Two, Portal 2, or Cuphead with my girlfriend.
The Pokemon defense force has come out in full swing against this game (I know them well, I'm a Pokemon fan) but it's actually pretty damn fun. It's a survival game and does what you'd expect a survival game to do, but the gameplay loop of the Pals helping to build your base and automate your progression is incredibly satisfying. The designs are definitely blatant ripoffs of Pokemon, but I'm cool with that. The AI art thing is iffy but so far unfounded and the game was in development for years so I'm inclined to believe it's a nothingburger. Will keep playing.
