A problem I have with a lot of games that come out now is that a lot of entries in some series feel like just “a step in the right direction” instead of an actually good game. I felt the same way with Pokemon Legends Arceus too. Super Mario Party is average. A game that will no doubt be forgotten as it is soon to be superseded by the next Mario Party. This could be said for every other entry in the series, but for the most part it isn’t. People still argue about which is the best entry in the series, and I don’t think I’ll ever hear any points made for this one. It’s fine. I’d just rather play the other games.
Let's start off by saying this: if you have Mario Party Superstars, there is no reason for you to play this.
This game is honestly a 50/50 — it lacks in almost everything content-wise, especially if we talk about boards, but, at the same time, it controls and looks beautifully, other than it finally coming back to the original formula with no cars.

Gold Pipe Simulator. stay around the shop areas and only buy gold pipes in the best strategy and there is no reason not to do it. The boards are the worst in the franchise with only 4. The other modes suck ass and are boring as sin. The unique dice blocks are a cool mechanic though so there's that. The minigames are pretty good so there is stuff to enjoy. If I'm playing MP with the boys, it ain't gonna be this one.
Overhated. I totally agree with a lot of the complaints, but it's still a really solid title.
Pros
- The mini games are fantastic as always.
- Presentation and graphics are really polished.
- The single player mode wasn't fleshed out, but the 'overworld' was full of nice finishing touches.
- Lots of different gamemodes - all being really fun.
- The hubworld is very chill and pleasant
- Coop mode changes up the whole game and it actually makes the maps more fun to play on.
- Character dice are also a really cool addition.
Cons
- The extra modes get stale very quickly due to the lack of minigames.
- Only 4 boards! wHaT?!?!?
- The 4 boards are also lacklustre. They do the job but they sure as hell aren't creative.
All they need to do in future games is focus on the boards a little bit more. The gimmicks were cool, but either flesh them out or don't include them at all.

Ok, this is also one of the worst Mario Party games mainly because of the boards and controls. The boards are one of the worst maybe even the worst boards in the entire franchise, it’s stupid how stars cost 10 coins instead of 20, it’s stupid how you start off with 5 coins instead of 10, and it’s also stupid how you have to use the joy cons and you are forced to hold it sideways, that was extremely dumb and I do not know what Nintendo was thinking. The only really good things about this one is is the character selection, mini games, and the side modes like the music side mode. The music side mode I always loved doing because it was actually a challenge. I also love the mode where your on a raft, that one was also really hard and fun. I also love how you can collect gems doing different challenges, and how when you collect all of them, you get this ceremony where you get this ginormous crown and you become the superstar, at least I think that’s what it calls you when you get them all. The mini games in the game were all from the previous Mario Party games and even some new ones and I generally enjoyed them. There were so many characters in this one and it’s sad how there were only 10 in Mario Party Superstars. Also, it is a crime for Nintendo to replace toad with birdo, no one even likes Birdo. Anyway, it’s also fun how Bowser is a playable character in the game and not and enemy to the other players, that was also good. Overall, this game was still easily one of the worst Mario Party games, and wasn’t a bad game, but wasn’t a good one either.
This game is a shame because it has excellent mini games and fun side modes, the makings of a great Mario Party, but it royally screws up the boards. They're awful, they look like those shitty boards from those really bad looking Mario Party games on the 3DS, which is a shame because it was really close to being the return to form the series needed
