This game is so fun that despite putting over 100 hours in a playthough in such a short amount of time I already want to start fresh on a higher difficulty, try to play with my friends, and try a few mods. I love the sense of accomplishment and the feeling of options opening up each step of progression, I love fighting the bosses, I love my movement capabilities expanding to a degree I never imagined they would, I love exploring the world and being surprised by things dozens of hours in. I played on the smallest world type and despite my dozens of hours mining there’s still large chunks of my world I never had the chance to experience. I love the variety in weapons which feels wrong to say because I almost never touched any magic weapons and I still felt like I had a lot of options throughout my playthough, and I absolutely want to amend that my next one because I really felt like I was missing out. Was there some dull periods? Sure. I think there’s a few points where progress feels sluggish and I wish things were done a little differently. But the fact I’m still having fun during those few and far between moments speaks volumes to how well thought out this experience is. I don’t know how I slept on this game for so long, but it’ll be a keeper.
Terraria, for me, is one of the greatest games ever made. There is simply nothing more to add. It stands as a piller of what games of its type can be; presenting the archetypes of its genre better then even Minecraft is able too. With only the most minor of flaws standing in its way to perfection. SImply put, a must play.
once i got over that beginning hump i got pulled in like crazy
it's peak gaming and i haven't even played modded yet
gamplay loop is addicting af once you know what you're doing, exploring caves was surprisingly super fun and some of the bosses are my favorites ever. should have done this a long time ago

Not for me
I get bored everytime
It's just so basic and unexciting, the exploration is boring, you're just stuck on this flat little world, if only there was a game like this but with cool spaceships and planets
I guess people enjoy the bosses and the progression of them and the game has that, i'll give it that
Epic lovecraft

Terraria is a game I pretend to hate but the hate is very disingenuous when I have over 300 hours in it and every time I start a new playthrough I'm glued to this shit, it is VERY addicting. The exploration and progression (lol) are just reeaaaallllyyyy goooooddddd. Aside from those though the grind is terrible, quality of life doesn't exist and Moonlord is an awfully designed final boss, do not let these distract you from the fact that I actually like this game.
My friend and I beat the Moon Lord literally first try with 0 prep and by reusing our mechanical boss arena, the happiness I felt was something few games deliver. It’s great to see us go from careful planning and developing strategy to throwing caution to the wind and still coming out on top. Terraria is a fantastic game that allows for as much or as little prep as you want, and it feels great to have the skill to beat it like this. I’m not sure what’s next for my Terraria adventures, maybe modded, maybe going back to expert mode, maybe both. But it was really fun the whole time and I got to experience some new things again. This time the majorly different things were encountering the Desert Key and Jungle Key and their respective items. I feel like the Piranha Gun is sadly a little weak and that the cat staff is interesting, but I only got it because my friend was sick of using the spider staff… after we had already thwarted Golem. I’m not sure I was able to get the proper experience to judge how good it is as a result. Still, I had fun and I can’t wait to start it over again.
One of the few ways my dick will ever get hard now, is the Terraria VORE mod. The only thing that makes me get out of the crusty ass hole I call a "Bed" is the Terraria VORE mod. I have spent HUNDRED of THOUSANDS of dollars on the acquirement of this dream. I CANNOT imagine a world without terraria VORE.
