Open world sandbox with a good degree of freedom, you're able to head straight for the final boss in the first 5 minutes if you want, though you'll probably get destroyed. Progression system is good, defeating minibosses weakens higher bosses while allowing you to level up the skills that you use the most. Decent variety of weapons but the same cannot be said for vehicles. Unfortunately the game is also very short and once completed there isn't anything else left to do. Good twist ending though.

JUST. ONE. MORE. JUMP. FOR. THAT. ORB.

Probably one of the funniest games I've been able to play with someone

come for the Halo 3 beta, stay for one more green orb

como alguém joga isso e acha bom???

this game had the potential to be another xbox franchise but the sequels couldnt reach the highs of this one. it was very fun to progress with your agent and see him getting better and better

Bastante divertido, pero termina siendo muy repetitivo a la larga.

Esse jogo é muito simples, não oferece nada demais, e não tem nada muito interessante, não acho ruim nem mediano, mas é um jogo jogável.

A fun open world game with a badass main character. I would rather mess around in this games open world than aany GTA. Maybe light on story, but when your having so much fun blasting everything, who cares. Somehow this is the best game in the series.

Ganhei na Live Gold e achei mó chato.

I loved it when I was younger, but it really doesn't hold up to today's standards

More fun than any game about a totally unaccountable hyper-cop agency has any right to be.

This game isn't good, it felt dated even when it first came out

I played crackdown way back when on my xbox 360, and guess what? I didn't play it to get into the halo 3 beta, so all you fucking little virgins, little ass, fuckin, NOT REAL CRACKDOWN FANS, ok, you can all buzz off. This review is for REAL Crackdown 1 fans only!!!

In Crackdown 1 you play as a cop. This means you can shoot pedestrians, run over criminals without reading them their rights, and scale buildings at incredible speeds to collect green orbs. That last bit is the best part of the game. It's a scathing critique of police work in general - collecting the green orbs is comparably enjoyable to shooting up heroin, but the only way you the Player can collect the green heroin orbs is by playing as a cop. The more you play, the more your cop's power grows, and the more green orbs you require to level up your jumping skill (get high). It's a viscous cycle that reflects our own reality - as the player's need for brain chemical releases grows, so too does the power of the police. This leaves us with a rather dystopian world, a place where freedom has been crushed under the totalitarian boot of the Cop, where pleasure is only given to those who help grow the Cop Machine.

The shooting in this game is also kind of weird, like I get why they had a lock on system but it never felt very good.

i just ran around and jumped on stuff. was a good time

A fun experience that feels like a saints row game on the other side of the law. gameplay didnt have the most depth and there wasnt much side activities to do besides orb collection but that was fun enough. also the story took a surprisingly dark twist at the end despite not being a story heavy game

Turns out I had a save near the end of this, just had the third gang to finish off. And then it just kind of stops.

Definitely showing its age. Aiming is clunky (though the lock-on largely helps), the physics engine takes over too long, stuff like that. Blowing things up en masse is still good though - the cluster grenade in particular is an excellent weapon - and bounding around looking for the green orbs is great. Looking forward to the third one.

On a side note, this is exactly how backward compatibility should work. Game's released for free, I just download it and after a few seconds all my 360 progress is just there, working. A game save from 11 years ago, just ready to go.

GTA, but you're a corrupt cop with super powers. A ton of fun. Shame about the sequels.

GTA-like gameplay with very little story and a superpowered badass who only gets stronger the more you play through it. One of my favorite games of all-time simply because of how much fun it is to play.

Gameplay: Explosive action
Characters: Explosive racism
Overall: Okay I guess

Okay, I'll actually review Crackdown. It's a neat world to hop around and blow shit up. Leveling up your skills feels pretty satisfying, but the gameplay stays mostly the same from beginning to end. You can get a flow of the monotony, turn on a podcast or something, and sink hours into the campaign. Especially since the game has no music or even interesting atmosphere to speak of.

While it's called "Crackdown" I only "crack up" at how dumb all the stereotypical boss profiles are. "Juan Mendez Escobar is head of cocaine distributions of his failed night club. Hang Wang Wei-Shin is the leader of the Shai-Gen, and knows the secret of underground martial arts." Fucking ridiculous shit lmao

I tried this out through Game Pass like last month and I already forgot about it.

I feel like I remember driving a car and hating how it controlled.

Very few games from this era of gaming hold up as well as Crackdown does, and very few can claim to be a pure sandbox as much as Crackdown can. You're never not in "sandbox mode" with this game, which offers an unparalleled level of freedom while tackling the critical path.

muito bomm, jogo livre e divertido. Difícil tbm.

Um clássico.
